What Ever Happened To : Jay Severin ... James Severino

Jay Severin...real name James Severino has burned more bridges than Keith Olbermann.
Anyone know where he is now....besides talking to himself....?

Just wondering, but this seems to be a recurring theme. The idea of working under a name other than the one you were born with is not exactly unknown in the entertainment biz. In fact, it almost appears to be the rule, and sometimes it is required.

Regards,
TSB

Yes and many jocks have chosen to go on air under the likes of Oedipus (Ed Hyson), Dr Demento (Barrett Hansen), "Johnny Dark" etc.
One border blaster DJ named Robert Smith would talk to clients under his real name with a rather ordinary voice, but when he got behind the mic he was the Wolfman, baby! One famed talk host was born Gerald Jacoby, but in radio he was the legendary Jerry
Williams.

Fictional: In first ep. of WKRP in Cincinnati we meet the well traveled Johnny Caravella, slugging it out playing beautiful music. PD Andy Travis recalls him as being "Johnny Sunshine, Boss Jock" in the past, and when Andy changes the format to rock, he becomes "Dr Johnny Fever". Another DJ with the name Gordon Sims, I believe, is also hired...but would you want to hear a guy with that name or his nom-de-microphone--Venus Flytrap?

Rock: Alice Cooper, Marilyn Manson, Mojo Nixon,
David Bowie, Gary Numan (Gary Webb), Billy Idol (William Broad), Kid Rock, Sid Vicious, Johnny Rotten...

Sorry to hear the news. I hope he can find a way to beat it.

But in a way he's being a dick about it. No, not in a way. He is being a dick about it. Hoping RBG's cancer prognosis is horse **** is stupid.

Can you imagine his outcry as well as his followers if she had said his prognosis is what he deserved?

Where is this? I am not going through his twitter feed to find what you are referring to.

The poster claimed Severin made some inflammatory tweets. He/she should post the actual tweets rather than paraphrase them and put the burden on the reader trying to find them in Severin's twitter feed.

First I find it amusing that you would question Severn making an inflammatory comment.

Second, the tweet was made on Jan. 10. I tried to provide a link but I can't figure out how to do that from Twitter, so I guess you'll have to scroll. Someone wrote that RBG claimed she was cancer free. He noted in reply to that Tweet: " I wish to convey to my sister cancer victim: I hope your claimed prognosis is horseshit. You know, having spent 30 years being quoted, I can see that this dying thing can be liberating – I could say anything I believe!"

Hope that helps.

WBOQ sure has come a long way from the quirky, chatty community-oriented oldies station it was not too long ago, hasn't it? Sunday evening is a good time to bury a show, though. Any guesses how many of that "audience pool of ca 2million" will actually be listening?

I've always enjoyed Jay's program on "96-9 FM Talk". I hope he's got his cancer in check and succeeds with this venture.

A direct quotation is always better. Was writing it out so hard?

And I wasn't questioning that he would make such a comment. I wanted to know what he actually said.
