iHeart Radio announces major restructuring

No jock bios at all now on the websites of WHCN and WWYZ Hartford, as far as I can tell. Imported drive time shows and robotic jukebox in other dayparts?
 
Jock schedules have been removed from all IHeart web sites, presumably because it will take weeks for the one part-timer assigned that task to catch up.
 
What this means!

It looks like Matt Siegel's tenure at Kiss 108 is about to end. The morning show will be either imported from another city or voicetracked.
 
There are a bunch of sites reporting ... radioinsight.com, allaccess.com, and others. The information appears to be coming from those fired, not iHeart.

Fybush.com reports that Matt Leonard, production director and afternoon jock from WHEB in Portsmouth, NH is out. He was with the station for five years. Also, Marylee Kelly at WCIB, Cape Cod, production director and afternoon jock as well. Then there is Jadd Naamani, who was in Portsmouth but went to Tulsa, OK for a PD gig. That didn't last long. He was also still voice tracking at WKCI (New Haven, CT) and WSNE (Providence).

Rough day for a whole bunch of radio people. I'm sure that there will be much info tomorrow.
 
At least for the moment.....may we assume "The Morning Buzz" on WGIR-FM/WHEB is still intact???
If Greg and the crew get kicked to the curb......we may see a listener revolt of epic proportions!!!:(
 
I gave a quick listen to WTAG & WSRS this morning just after 5. Both station’s morning shows were the same as always.

I doubt that iHeart would pull one of the most long-lasting, best performing morning shows in a top 10 market, on one of the best performing CHRs in the country, but we’ll see.
 
It's pretty cool that All Access gives an immediate platform for everyone who's been displaced to get their contact info and brief background up in a widely viewed location.

I was holding out “hope” they wouldn’t hit WBZ. Deb Lawler will be missed. She had just returned from a 3-week vacation in South America.

What a way to welcome her back. :(

Looks to me at BZ right along they have gotten rid of anchors who, are I assume, are making more money either due to name recognition (Josh Binswanger) or long tenure (Deb). In a way I get it - they want to position it as a utility with random people just reading copy without star power or listener attachment. People do get used to those voices, though, and it helps keep them coming back. Ironically, not even 4 weeks ago they were celebrating her 35 years with the station.

Is there quantifiable evidence of this, or merely anecdotal and/or personal experience? And if this is a legitimate factor in listenership, does it positively impact the profit margin of WBZ?
