When 100.5 signed on they were stunting with "Real Country" Then came the the moving Van Halen marathon. Here is some of it from LKYRadio.com. BTW I submitted the clips!

Loved it thanks for posting. My favorite is when they said the weasal is dead. I bet if john otting were alive he would not like what has happened to qmf

AmericanRadioHistory.com has posted an archive of R&R magazines. It is really interesting to go back and see the progression (or in my opinion Regression) of rock radio. It is almost unthinkable now, but in the early and mid 80's WQMF, WAMZ and WHAS dominated the Louisville airwaves. The market was not as crowded as it is today, but WQMF routinely scored double digit ratings, as did many other AOR's across the country. That was the good old days before rock radio become so fragmented and consolidated. When QMF was pulling in its biggest numbers, their playlist included all types of rock including crossovers. Yes they actually played Prince, Hall and Oats, Tina Turner, Animotion, Chicago and Duran Duran. These artists did chart on the AOR chart. When DJX deputed, QMF started tightening their format. Then in the late 80's and early 90's, LRS came back with Rock 40. That didn't last very long but it did cause QMF to get even tighter. And in 1992, QMF was scared to death of competition. They thought a classic rock station was going to come in the market. So what did they do? QMF went all classic rock. See: https://www.americanradiohistory.co...RR-1992-10-23-OCR-Page-0048.pdf#search="wqmf"
WTFX did debut, but they went AOR rather than classic rock. After that, ratings plummeted. WQMF stayed classic rock, then went back to Active Rock, then back to classic rock................Clear Channel......WSFR.......and now you have a station that is a shell of what it once was. Yeah, hotpatrick2004, the weasel definitely died a slow painful death. Credit to Radio and Records Magazine and Americaradiohistroy.com

YAWN

I listened for about 5 minutes. ***yawns*** back to XM right after that.

Apparently, iHeart is doing a big nationwide restructuring today, with a lot of people losing their jobs.

Seeing on twitter several folks from the Lexington and Louisville market are out. Sad.

I don’t mind the GenX format. Not sure if it will have any dj’s?

It seems they're doing an all 90s weekend this weekend. I wonder if this is going to be a regular thing? I really like it, they're playing a lot of stuff that you don't hear on the radio quite as often anymore (I mean they aren't going super deep but still).

Also noticed that they are no longer WLGX.... they have new call letters now, WSDF. Looks like the change was made earlier this week.
