FOX Television Stations (O&O) Graphics

I notice that almost all of the FOX Owned and Operate TV stations have a new slick graphics. The only FOX O & O TV stations that haven't switch to the new graphics are WNYW FOX 5 NY, WFXT FOX 29 Philly, WTTA FOX 5 DC, and KDFW FOX 4 Dallas/Ft. Worth.

Even WJZY got them Tuesday and they are to be sold to Nexstar. I was surprised. But I guess this had already been in the works since before the sale was announced. I don’t look for them to get Nexstar graphics now. But maybe WGHP’s opening music and the website design.

The FOX station in Washington DC is WTTG. Several of the stations have different brands of Character Generators. It takes a little longer to produce graphics for different makes and models.

The new icon seems to tie in with Fox carry of the Super Bowl. My local Fox outlet spares no opportunity to mention they have the big game this year.

KTVU San Francisco - owned by Cox before being purchased by Fox, and becoming an O&O a couple of years ago; continues to use the "2" graphic the station has used for 43 years, since 1975:

KTVU have stuck the word "Fox" in front of the "2" but that's all. Their popular morning news and info show continues to be "Mornings on 2". I believe most Fox stations use a different title, but I don't recall what that is.

KTVU does use some Fox News Channel field reports on their local news programs, but does not emphasize Fox News channel coverage or opinions, because, well, they are not stupid - and don't want to alienate liberal Bay Area viewers.

Well other Fox O&O's uses Good Day like KTTV Fox 11 Los Angeles has been using for 30 years for their morning newscasts.
In the case of San Francisco KTVU has called their morning newscasts Mornings on 2 for the past 30 years. Although it's also called Mornings on Fox 2 and KTVU Fox 2 Newsalso since Fox took over KTVU and KTVU+.

I think in other markets where Fox operates their O&O's like Los Angeles and New York Call Letters are not emphasized like KTTV and WNYW. But that's only because Fox has run those stations for nearly 35 years after taking over the former Metromedia stations. In Los Angeles Fox simply call their newscasts Fox 11 News but that's been well established for decades though.

The part where Fox O&O's use Fox News segments that is true for national stories but it's without political spin though for the O&O's.

Well there is a KFOX-TV but it's for an El Paso, Fox Affiliate owned by Sinclair and it's interesting that Fox didn't get these Call letters for KTTV Los Angeles when they took over in 1986. But then again back in 1986 a forth network was then an uncertainty though.

Fox17 hasn't ever used Good Day they just call it Fox17 Morning News from 4:30AM to 9AM. I think Scripps will update the Fox logo as they don't use the search lights in any of the Fox TV station they own still using Tribune designs but that will take a while for WXMI Fox17 to get the Scripps designs the website got the Scripps designs happened in early Dec.

well, KDFW seems to be taking their time to debut the new graphics, i think Fox maybe rolling it out in phases and KDFW is not one of the ones in the first phase of the roll out, i guess KDFW will get it either next Sunday or Monday or could be waiting until there is an plan for a studio renovation. KDFW has had their current set since 2006 when the "MyFox" graphics/studio roll out happened. not only does KDFW have the oldest set (not counting the WFAA Greg Street studios, which they had since either 2004-2005 but these days, they use it as a alternate studio since their South Victory/Victory Park studios is their main studios, the studio was updated last in 2018 during the 2018 TEGNA graphics update for all of their stations), WFAA got there's as I mention in 2018, KTVT updated theirs sometime in the 2010s, KXAS got their current set in 2013 when they moved from their famed Broadcast Hill studios in Fort Worth to the current studios in the DFW International Airport area, however, the studio got upgraded in either 2018 or 2019 with a new video board behind the newsdesk. the graphics on KDFW are the oldest too, WFAA rolled out their current graphic in 2018, KTVT got their graphics update in 2016 (and may roll out new graphics once the CBSN local streams roll out is complete sooner or later), and KXAS also got new graphics in 2016 as NBC Universal rolled out new graphics for the NBC O&O stations that year too. I think KDFW got their graphics around 2011-2013.

Growing up in LA in the 1960's, there was a KFOX AM radio station with a Country format. There was recently a "K-Fox" album rock FM station in the Bay Area, call letters KFFX, I believe. Now gone, and no relation to the Fox network.

the new Fox O&O news graphics just made their debut on KDFW Fox 4 in Dallas, they started using the graphics today in their 5 PM and 5:30 PM newscast, i'm not sure if the Noon newscast was the first with the new graphic or the last with the old graphics. i know they were using the old graphics in the early part of Good Morning Dallas.

I'm not sure I get it. I watched the late news online from KDFW tonight and the graphics are different, but nothing special. Just more boxy. Slick? No not at all. They even took the "red" out of it. I find that surprising with Fox. If this is the new look for KCPQ Seattle, then they will have downgraded.
