Kirk Douglas, dead at 103

103 is an amazing number. He was Spartacus.! Top shelf actor and Michael Douglas's father. Hopefully, the Oscars Broadcast does not forget him during their "In Memoriam" segment. They have made glaring omissions in the past...

What a long life he led. (Though later years were coping with a stroke). Such a legend, a beautiful career, and great memories on film.

"Seven Days In May" is a lost classic, he was very good in this somewhat unknown film.

A wonderful long life filled with classics. I loved him in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, with James Mason and the giant squid fight. May he forever RIP and condolences to Michael and the rest of the family.

I haven't seen the entire episode yet but he hosted "SNL". Gilda Radner's aunt was surprised he was so short. Harry Shearer (numerous "Simpsons" voices) was in the cast at the time and I recognized his voice when there was a fake commercial for a record album of Kirk doing impressions of impressionists doing impressions of him. I also recognized his voice when Jane Curtin hosted a talk show where several people speculated on what "Spartacus" would have been like with an airplane, and a recreation was shown. Spartacus was really happy flying around, while the Romans on the ground debated which god was responsible.

Another one that's short is Chuck Norris.
Does anybody know what Kirk's REAL name was?

Issur Danielovitch

And I might add that "Seven Days in May" is an excellent movie and very close to what we are experiencing in WashDC these days. It is worth watching.

Continuing with "SNL", Kirk went in the ladies' room at a nice restaurant by mistake. The attendant pleaded with him to say lines from his movies and asked for his autograph. Most of the lines she asked him to speak were by others such as Bogart or Clark Gable.
