IHeartRadio in New York Question

As we know, IHeart is unfortunately undergoing another round of dismissing radio personalities all over the country, as they shift toward more automation (i.e. voicetracking), and syndication. Is programming still live and local, at least during weekdays, on all their stations in this major market?

More names to be revealed according to Radioinsight in the Iheart cuts

I believe the agreement between Clear Channel and the union about 2008 allowed for one jockless/voicetracked/syndicated shift per day. Last time I checked Z100 was live and local in all dayparts with the exception of Seacrest in middays, Lite FM also live and local except for the syndicated Delilah at night, Q104.3 is live and local until midnight. They voicetrack Doc Reno from KGB in San Diego during the overnight. I have no idea about Power 105.1

That was 12 years ago. Can't believe that was the last contract they've had. But the fact that NY and LA are union shops may be why we haven't heard of on-air cuts in those markets yet. The only cuts we know of in Chicago are 7PM to midnight.

I read that the eliminated 7 to midnight positions in Chicago were at an urban, urban AC, and country station. I didn't hear anything about the CHR, WKSC, so I assume they still have a night talent?

According to RadioInsight, WOR 710 AM evening personality Joe Concha has been let go. He was host of the show, WOR tonight.

San Francisco and Sacramento's Iheart cluster has not confirmed their layoffs as of January 15th, 2020. These two markets are so far some of the largest cities not yet hit with the national cuts though.

According to Radio Insight, Premiere talk personality Buck Sexton will host a 1 hour show weeknights from 6-7 PM on WOR. It will delve into local issues, and is set to begin next week.

Interesting, they're calling this a "local hour." From what I've read, the show airs live from 6 to 9 pm EST. Several station carry it delayed from 9 pm EST to midnight which is when I hear it.

This past Wednesday during the first hour Buck mentioned that the impeachment vote had not occurred yet. The vote was at 4 pm so apparently the show was airing (or was pre-recorded) prior to that. He doesn't take phone calls so time-shifting wouldn't be too difficult.

The first two hours of the national show are excellent. Sometimes the final hour gets a little silly. We'll see what he does in the WOR hour.

The WOR web site says Buck Sexton runs from 6 to 9. So the first hour will be local to NY, dealing specifically with local issues, and the next two will come from the syndicated show. Seems simple enough.

So either the syndicated hour or the WOR hour will be pre-recorded. They can't occur simultaneously and they're not likely to run a NY-centric hour nationally.

The linked story says the 6-7 local hour will be live.

New York’s 710 WOR will debut a local program hosted by national Talk radio and TV personality Buck Sexton. Launching February 10, The Buck Sexton Show will broadcast live, weeknights 6-7 p.m. ET.

Supposedly, WOR is only going to run the exclusive 6:00 hour live. Sexton's three hour syndicated show will continue without OR. That's weird because, at least now, the national show (on 150 affiliates) airs from 6 to 9 pm live. A lot of stations opt to run it from 7-10 pm, 10 pm-1 am, or whatever. I would think that something has to change on Monday. Either way, Buck has his work cut out for him. That's in addition to subbing (at times) for Rush, Beck, and Hannity!
Yes, he's done all three!!
