Argentine AM station pulls theme music after 2 decades

On Monday, February 17th, many listeners were caught by surprise when Radio 10, one of Argentina's top-rated AM stations, replaced its legendary, catchy theme music used for news bulletins with a softer one. The theme is a staple of the station and was used since it went to the air in February 1998 (22 years ago; quite a record!)
It's a big loss. Thankfully, it's still available on the Internet for those who'd like to hear it.

Here's the last bulletin with the old theme:

And the first bulletin with the new one:

Actually, the "old theme" music went through various revisions (updating the mix and feel just slightly) over the years. While I was there as consultant, it was done twice in just 6 years.

Of course, back then Radio 10 was always #1 and way above the other stations. Now it is about 50% behind Mitre and has lost some of its best talent, starting of course with the original owner Daniel Hadad.
