MS sports this Morning and Sunday Brunch

I've noticed that the local sports show on WJDX has been replaced with a network feed from Fox Sports. And the Sunday Brunch show with Mike Bridges on Z-106 appears to be gone. Have they been let go by IHeart or (NoHeart) radio? What else has left. Miss 103 appears to be voice tracked most of the day except for Bobby Bones which is syndicated. Has Kim Allen also been let go?

Kim Allen and Mike Bridges were let go in January, along with several other IHeart employees nationwide. I suspect that programming will eventually be provided from a regional "hub" to several stations. One person may be voice tracking for multiple stations. You can already hear Randy Bell doing newscasts for numerous IHeart stations across Mississippi.

That's what I thought. I've DXed out of state stations (Lousianna) that had Randy Bell doing weather. BTW, how long has Randy Bell been there? I'm 56 years old and I remember listening to him on 62JDX and ZZQ back when I was a little kid. He must be getting old, or either he started when he was very young.

Randy has been there since the mid 70's if I remember correctly. They had a multi-staff news department that was headed by Howard Lett back in the day.

One of the other news men at WJDX ended up with "The Radio People" 98.7, Y-101 and US 96" WJDX also had a traffic plane with Nancy Bell. At least I Think they did, or maybe she was beating on her chest like Les Nesmon on WKRP.

Are you speaking of David Herring? I remember him doing the news on 94TYX way back when.
