BFA has cancelled an event due to the COVID-19 scare.
 
One concern expressed earlier was the possible loss of advertising due to cancelations of sports and concert events. On the other hand, the president announced a number of public-private partnerships with Google, WalMart, Target, and other retailers for testing. We may see those retailers rush out advertising to bring customers into their stores:

Radio stations should be reaching out to agencies to help get the word out about these partnerships. Be prepared to make changes in current advertising to include this new information.

Beasley Media Group has announced a companywide Coronavirus prevention policy at all of its properties.

Between Monday, March 16 and Tuesday, March 31 most full-time employees will be asked to work from home with those needed in offices following CDC guidelines. All work related travel has been postponed. All station events and appearances through the remainder of March have been cancelled. And no listeners will be allowed to pickup prizes at station offices, though Market Managers will have the discretion to make limited exception instances where prizes are time limited.

You sound surprised. I can't imagine why. I encourage you to watch Pres. Trump's statement from last Friday at the CDC. It is full of errors, which VP Pence, Secy. Azar and others spent Saturday and Sunday correcting. Perhaps more alarmingly the President was being braggadocius about his great understanding of science and biology, when his statements elsewhere in the video indicate otherwise.

Do you think there's a single White House staffer who has the guts to say, during a televised news conference, "Mr. President, that's not quite right"? I can't imagine that with the relatively mild-mannered Pres. George W. Bush, let alone the fiery Pres. Trump.

The thing that makes no sense is why he'd make something like this up. No rhyme or reason. Plus now we all know.

He'll probably try to use this in the future to blame Google for not living up to their word to him on a private phone call.

I must admit I was stunned to hear the president, no fan of huge internet entities, praising Google at all, never mind announcing a major initiative like that. I wouldn't be surprised if it was as you surmise, a set-up for a big public dressing down of YouTube by Trump for "lying" to him, which will certainly play well with a base that already believes Facebook and Amazon are seething pits of "angry Democrats" still looking to remove him from office.
 
Anyone heard how CBS is doing on sanitizing 524 West?
I wonder if they will be done by Sunday morning. CBS Radio network Master Control is there, and usually takes "Music and the Spoken Word" via ISDN from KSL. Usually KSL calls them to start lineup.
It's going to be done with the usual Choir and organ, but in an empty hall.
 
Black Rock is not scheduled to reopen until Monday.

Latest I just got was that "M&SW" will be a previously recorded show for the next couple of weeks. Still has to playback from SLC. The Conference, in April, will be without a live audience.

The Saturday edition of "CBS This Morning" was broadcast from Studio 57 today. There were no interstitial news or weather updates from WCBS-TV, however.
