CBS Broadcast Center closed

The effects were noticeable to New York viewers during "CBS This Morning": Local news and weather updates were absent, as were the local news ticker and the time-and-temperature display. Essentially, WCBS-TV broadcast a chaste CTM network feed.

Makes you wonder what the Public Health or CDC would do or declare, if they looked at some of the "Kitchen areas" at any broadcast facility.

CBS has closed its New York production center after two employees tested positive for COVID-19.

From the New York Post: CBS closes NYC offices after two employees positive for coronavirus

This was bound to happen given that the news division has to send their staff to high risk areas such as hospitals and quarantine centers to cover the fallout of COVID-19. Also it would not shock me if other newsrooms in the coming days have to face a similar issue where their news staff gets tested positive for COVID-19 because they were reporting from their area hospitals or CDC approved quarantine centers where multiple patients were confirmed to be tested positive for COVID-19.

Not aware that there actually are any such "CDC approved quarantine centers." Also not aware that the people at CBS were reporters or got infected covering COVID.

Unless this is normal procedure on weekends, like CBSN Pittsburgh, the CBSN Boston feed from WBZ-TV is shut down. CBSN is now airing its LA broadcast over its National, New York, and Boston channels.

I'm hearing that all of the majors are asking their staff to see if content can be created and uploaded at home individually without personal interaction or studios. I have a feeling we're about to see the YouTubing and Skyping of major network TV. Forget about fancy studios and perfect lighting.

They have professional equipment and you would not know the difference.

We may have just seen our last White House Press Conference. I saw where anyone who goes to the White House has to have their temperature taken.

Assuming it's oral, not rectal. Haha.

Actually just told that the thermometers are of the "non-contact" variety. Think Exergen temporal scanners.

Looks like the CBS headquarters in New York are back up, as CBSN New York aired the 6 PM ET newscast from WCBS-TV live. Their news anchor acknowledged being back in their own studio.

The CBS Weekend News is still being broadcast from LA.

Not fully up. "CBS 2 News" has not yet returned to Studio 46; it's using CBSN New York's digs for now.

I saw a commercial where cameras were following people in space suits in areas with quarantines.

While it seems like a good idea to show what's going on to make it seem less scary (I suppose that's the objective) it was described as a "60 Minutes" crew.
