San Francisco under mandatory quarantine - TV stations locking down?

All Bay Area counties are under mandatory quarantine effective midnight tonight.

What will happen to the news operations at 2, 4, 5, 7 and 11 along with the Spanish stations on 14 and 48? Will they be given special permission to stay in the studios? Will they be going remote? Suspending some newscasts? Putting emergency syndicated or network programming on?

That is the least of anybody's worries. The most important question is how do people who can't telecommute work? That, of course, would include much of the staff of the TV stations (who's going to anchor the news from their living room, and will the engineers and production people have to stay home?). Who gives a flying fig what they put on the air?

If Bay Area News Outlets are under quarantine then either the Network will take over or other Network O&O's will take over the Bay Area stations. My Understanding was that KPIX was one of the CBS O&O's that was assigned to take over WCBS-TV's news operations with KCBS/KCAL and WBZ when CBS NYC was closed due to the COVID-19 investigation. KRON might have their newscasts taken over by other Nexstar Owned station in case they are told to abandon local operations.

Now the NBC O&O's might be on standby to take over WNBC-TV's local newscasts due to one of the NBC New York staff members being tested positive for COVID-19.

Newspapers, television, radio, and other media services are considered "essential businesses" so they're exempt from the mandatory quarantine. There's a long list including grocery stores, hardware store, gas stations, post office and many more.

I can see the rest of the USA doing the same thing and call for their local edition of mandatory quarantine.
