I find it interesting that Entercom has a station trying to take a portion of the urban audience. I have noticed that they have inched up in the ratings as of late, even though they are not doing any damage to WJTT it's giving the listeners another option. The signal is not very good, and they are not doing anything special, they are not a viable threat but they are showing up. The last station to challenge WJTT was WKXJ when they were a rhythmic CHR on 97.3/99.3 in the late 90's. That station did well for a while until they were acquired by Cumulus and flipped back to Mainstream. I wonder how they are selling it or if they are making money on it.
