WWRW 105.5 Sold

You would probably know the market better than I do, but I thought LM was at the cap for FM's including its operation of 96.1.

From what I could tell, Clarity doesn’t seem to operate any of the stations it owns. So, it’s likely to LMA 105.5 out to somebody.

These are questions I've also had regarding the sale of WWRW. Is it possible iHeart continues to program/operate/market the station with Clarity as the new owner, or is iHeart cutting ties to the station altogether? I, too thought it may not be possible for LM to program the station seeing as they are at market cap, but I will admit I don't know the regulations regarding LMAs and how they factor into market caps. LMA with Cumulus? Other than iHeart and Cumulus, who else in the market could operate the station other than a religious broadcaster? Sadly, I wasn't able to find any clues in any of the files/applications through FCC CDBS. Often times, evidence of an LMA/TBA will be provided as an exhibit on an application (see recently sold WKYL's application to transfer license to Southern Belle, LLC.), but no such exhibit was provided in the WWRW application.

I would think a deal with iHeart would be out of the question unless iHeart actually sold its programming to Clarity. You can't LMA a station you can't legally own. There are some ways around that, but it wouldn't be a traditional LMA and invites FCC scrutiny.

Looks like Cumulus is also at the limit in Lexington. So, it would seem to be out of the question as well. Southern Belle/7 Mountains would be able to operate it, but it seems like its Kentucky properties are targeting Frankfort. It wouldn't make sense for it to want one station in Lexington, though I suppose stranger things have happened.

I like this format that they play too, would hate to see it go for yet another country station in town. Hopefully that won't be the case here.

Has anyone heard anything about this station selling? Format changes to come?
The sale is still pending FCC approval. I guess they're taking a bit longer than usual because of interruptions caused by the pandemic. No news yet on what LM plans to do with the station. Eager to find out though.
