Nexstar Broadcasting has changed the lineup at WCTX/59 (My TV 9) in New Haven, CT due to COVID-19. My Network programming gets bounced to 11:35PM-1:35AM due to them adding a newscast from sister station WTNH/8 (News 8 ) at both 8PM and 9PM. Other changes include resuming the simulcast of the 6AM and 11PM newscasts from WTNH, which had ended with the new Fall season back in September. Most of their lineup gets juggled.

So the people complaining about why Wheel of Fortune and the White House being pre-empted for local press conferences can take a hike if they don't like the pre-emptions and for good reasons such as the Governor and Mayor doing updates.

I haven't been watching any of the sports encores, but I see that the World Series encore on FOX (WNYW did air it) was still in a 3-hour time slot like all live WS games. I imagine that game originally ran over, as nearly all WS games do, so for encores, would they edit it down to run an even 3 hours?
For tonight, indie WLNY, sister to WCBS, is not having a 9 PM newscast, perhaps due to WCBS' hiatus on its native news operations, but this is the first I've seen of it. Filling that hour is a second airing of Entertainment Tonight Weekend, in addition to its usual 11 PM airing. Over on WCBS itself, ETW appears to have permanently changed times; it now airs Saturdays at 5:00 PM if the time slot is open, and also Sunday morning at 5:00 AM. 7-8 is now apparently permanently infomercials, most often for Operation Smile. ETW is airing four times total this weekend on the WCBS/WLNY duopoly.

Even MLB Network is editing its classic games to fit a specific time slot. MLB's SiriusXM radio channel, though, appears to be airing radio play-by-play of all games full-length and unedited, even when the games themselves aren't particularly classic. Last night, a Royals-Tigers game from 2005 was aired. It finished 11-2 Detroit and was never close, yet every single pitch was described and every single play called. Why? Because Dmitri Young (not some Hall of Famer, just Dmitri Young) hit three home runs in that game.
If they're going to run miscellaneous regular season games, at least they could pick close ones with surprising twists or dramatic endings. How about going through the whole library of games played on a given date (The game last night was from April 4.) in all years and running the most exciting one, or three of them -- a day game, an Eastern or Central time night game, and a West Coast night game to wrap up the day's action? A 1-0 pitcher's duel from Cleveland in 1985, an 11-10 slugfest from Atlanta in 1993, an extra-inning 6-5 nailbiter from Seattle in 2015, for example -- the only thing the games would have in common is that they were played on the same month and day, and practically no one listening (or watching, if TV tried this) would have any idea how the game would turn out. To me, that would simulate the day-to-day baseball fan experience much more accurately than showing a whole string of World Series Game 7s, the outcomes of which most fans would know immediately.
Or an alternate idea, how about picking games for the announcers instead of the outcomes? There seems to be a real need for "comfort food" right now, and picking interesting games that Scully/Carey/Harwell/Jack Buck called would seem a good idea.

WXIX in Cincinnati is airing the movie "Flushed Away" from 12-2P Eastern, followed by MyDestination.TV, then Friends in place of Three GOATs.
Several of the Mountain Time Zone FOX's aren't airing NASCAR nor the Super Bowl LI encore at 3E/1M.
KDVR in Denver has Paid Programmings from 11A-2P, followed by Matter of Fact, In Depth with Graham Bensinger, and two more Paid Programmings, then the usual Judge Judy x 2 at 4. KDVR does have next Sunday's encore of SBLXV listed, though.
KRQE-DT2 in Albuquerque has Greatest Sports Legends at 11, Paid Programming x 2, an hour episode of KRQE's local show "Legendary New Mexico", then a half-hour episode of the same show, then three more Paid Programmings to fill the rest of SBLI's slot.
KSAZ in Phoenix has all Paid Programmings from 9A-12P, Xploration Earth 2050, Xploration Weird but True, followed by the movie "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot" from 1:00-3:30, pre-empting one of two episodes of Raw Travel.

How are all these markets that aren't airing the "e-race" for NASCAR's live product? I can definitely see stations in non-traditional NASCAR markets like Albany and the Twin Cities opting for syndication and infomercials, and none of the other cities mentioned strike me as being particularly strong NASCAR markets either, even though Phoenix does have a host track -- but then, so does Loudon, New Hampshire, yet Manchester and Boston remain chilly toward, if not downright dismissive of, stock car racing in general. If the sport is mentioned on Boston sports radio at all, it's to ridicule the IQ of the "good ole boy" drivers, the mobile-billboard cars, and the slavishly brand-loyal fans.
Why not air classic races instead of a video game?
Because drivers are playing the game, and NASCAR fans all have their favorite drivers. It would be different if it was just a racing simulation with the action being driven by a CPU -- several YouTubers are doing that with The Show 20 to simulate MLB games. I don't think that would attract many viewers at all, but the idea of the drivers themselves competing in a virtual race, with the outcome unknown, might be a decent draw for a few weeks for the sheer novelty of it. Whether any of this substitute programming has enough appeal to last through the spring and summer is doubtful. I'm hoping that some of the countries where the virus peaked earlier and action was taken sooner might be cleared for sports by June. Wouldn't mind watching Japanese and Korean baseball or soccer from Italy or Spain.
