FM simulcast of AM in LOU & LEX? Thoughts?

I've been listening to stations out of NYC, Boston, Dallas, etc, at night via AM as I drive around working 3rd shift now and I've noticed the larger markets have went to simulcasting their AM stations on FM with mention of the FM frequency first, then the AM.. giving impressions of importance to the FM side. I feel its obvious they're doing this to try and stave off starvation as the younger generations are going more to streams etc using their 'unlimited' internet access plans. Even I began streaming WCBS 880 on my phone to my aux input in my own truck since my SiriusXM subscription is about to end and wanted to test the waters.

What I'm curious about: WHY hasn't Louisville and/or Lexington done the same, and, do you think they'll ever do it before its too late?

In NYC and Boston, if theyre doing it, its because AM has problems penetrating the steel and concrete buildings..... in NYC 660 is on 101.9 but in other cases its a lot of HD2s, 3s and translators
 
In Lexington... WVLK 590 am is also on 97.3 fm. It was on 101.1 and was kicked off due a powerhouse FM station in eastern KY.

WVLK even now refers themselves as 97.3 fm WVLK.

WLAP 630 am is now trying to get on 101.1.

Sports 1300 am is on 92.5.
 
WAKY 620 simulcasts on 100.1 and 106.3 as well as their main signal at 103.5 in Radcliff.
WHBE 680 simulcasts on 105.7 (Eminence) and sometimes on 93.9
WFIA 900 simulcasts on 94.7 and 107.3
WLOU 1350 simulcasts on 104.7
WXVW 1450 simulcasts on 96.1
WLRS 1570 simulcasts on 101.9
AND:
WKRD 790 has a CP for a translator on 99.3
WGTK 970 has a CP for a translator on 93.5

Wow, I'm obviously outta the loop anymore. Heh.

How long has NYC been simulcasting their AMs, due to buildings? Interesting given online streaming.

Guess now I find it interesting that 840 WHAS (Clear Channel/iHeart stations, local to Louisville) isn't doing the same. Knew about WXVW tho as I listen from time to time at night if I can't find anything else while in the work truck.
