B101 is playing Christmas music

I don't think KEZK St. Louis is doing Xmas music for an April fool's Joke...it's a COVID-19 'stress reliever'...
Perhaps WBEB isn't just doing Xmas for 4/1.

You're right. That's why for the past 2 weekends The Hallmark Channel was airing Christmas movies. In fact last weekend both Hallmark Channel and their sister network Hallmark Movies and Mysteries were showing Christmas movies.

Flipping through the radio and it seems like B101 is playing nonstop Christmas music.

Seems to tie in to other AC stations across the country doing some Christmas music stunts recently to get people more cheerful during the pandemic. (Plus it being April Fools day doesn't hurt.)

Also today, 95.7 Ben FM played All Weird-Al from 6-9:15AM. Which is more enjoyable than Christmas music, at least in MY opinion!

It may or may not be April Fool's related. WLEV, Allentown's big AC station 50 miles to the north did all Christmas all this past weekend. Same with Magic 93 up in Wilkes-Barre, 50 miles to the north of that. Both are owned by Cumulus. It's been marketed as a stress-reliever in these troubled times.

Nobody* is doing "April Fools" jokes this year. Nothing is funny about the current Coronavirus situation.

Many stations have played interludes or days of Christmas music as a tonic for the current endemic situations, but not as a joke.

*At least nobody who still has a brain.

Well it's been about five days now. Has the Xmas music made you or anyone you know happier?

I guess lot of artists going to be getting royalty checks that were not expecting them this time of year. Lot of artists that most of their music only played around holiday season.

Artists don't receive royalties from radio airplay. Just songwriters. Most of the songwriters of traditional Christmas music have passed away.

On another site I go to, the number of posts that would disagree with you is approaching fifty pages.

When I hear attempts to make the virus "funny" I think of the large number of family members... and myself... who are in the greatest risk categories. It is hard to make fun of something that could take a loved one.

Some people may find humor in this situation or in people's reactions to it. I just think of the city where my oldest daughter is trapped, away from her family, and where they have run out of coffins and are using cardboard and plastic garbage bags for the dead, who are placed by family members in the street for pick-up.

People handle situations like this very differently. We should respect how everyone deals with this, and not try to argue about who's right or wrong. David, I am sorry about your daughter.
