The CBS Sunday Night Movie Returns

With God Friended Me, NCIS Los Angeles, and New Orleans all wrapping up their seasons at the end of April, CBS is hauling blockbusters out of its owned Paramount Pictures library to fill the Sunday Night schedule in May (at the very least):
May 3
“Raiders of the Lost Ark” (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT)
May 10
“Forrest Gump” (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT)
May 17
“Mission: Impossible” (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT)
May 24
“Titanic” (7:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT)
May 31
“Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT)

Both "Raiders" and "Mission Impossible" will have Behind The Scenes features culled from their DVD and Blu-Ray releases. As for May 24th, "60 Minutes" will either be preempted (highly unlikely) or time has already been cleared for a 6pm Start that night (more likely).

Amazing Race had to suspend due to the virus. They will resume filming when the time is right. Later in the year I suspect, but maybe not until 2021. Those episodes can just be shelved for a longer period.
That being said I love these Sunday Night Movie ideas from CBS. It's like turning the clock back 30 years to when Sunday was 'the' night to watch a movie on network TV. Albeit many of them were TV-movies 'based off a true story' or 'from the award-winning novel'. But some of them were excellent.

I don't see why not. They have vast film libraries into which they can tap (Disney, Universal, and...well, duh!;))

Fox Pictures was sold to Disney last year, so maybe not :)

Yepper on that. I forgot Disney and Fox entertainment properties are now shacking up.

Interesting movie lineup for May, which makes you wonder what movies they will show in June and the rest of the summer months. Doesn't it seem like it getting earlier and earlier every year that tv shows are wrapping their seasons, or even the series run. Like Modern Family is airing its last episode of a 11 season run.

I wish they'd do movies I haven't seen. I'm too cheap to see movies any other way.

Several local stations also air movies on weekends, and some have been pretty good.

Good Move for CBS to do so and yes a good way to promote All Access.

20th Century Fox is renamed as 20th Century Pictures recently though even since Bob Iger and the Disney Board got Bob Chappek to take over the CEO seat.:D.

If Fox were really interested in movies at primetime wouldn't they get a broadcasting rights contract with Sony Pictures to do so?

I wish more local stations in the Memphis and Jackson, TN area would do that instead of filling non-sports times with hours of infomercials.
