Kane exits Hot 99-5

Hot 99.5's ratings aren't quite where they should be in the wake of Mix 107.3's demise, and his station in Baltimore has seen a big drop-off in ratings compared to a year or so ago.

When one evaluates the results coupled with iHM's desire to tighten the purse strings, I can understand why this move is being made.

The timing of it makes me wonder if they haven't grabbed a recently departed talent from another market.

I can't imagine this being a long term strategy. However, compliments to the web team for adjusting the sites quickly.

Wow, this is shocking, but considering how more can be done remotely. I’m sure he can find a place somewhere. Cumulus can use him on they’re Westwood One Podcast Network in the form of podcasting. When you consider how we’re seeing radio clusters downsizing. It makes sense. Nothing is sacred in Show business.
