Who Is Listening-To Or Watching..

From GlobalWebIndex:

NOTE: All stats in this report are from a GlobalWebIndex April 2020 custom survey among 2,210 (U.S.) and 1,554 (UK) internet users aged 18-64. This report excludes 16-17-year-olds, as well as respondents who didn’t provide their consent to be asked questions related to their health.

*We tend to view limiting a study strictly to internet users as a bias. The way to get around that is have some selected non-users as a control group and compare numbers.

My big conclusion is the younger you go, the more visual you have to be. If radio wants to attract more Gen Z, it has to become more visual and more interactive.

And the boomers are just sitting in their loungers watching TV all day, or not engaged at all with any media.

Okay Boomer! Just kidding.

The interesting takeaway that I found, was how much Gen X consumed traditional Radio and TV. The other interesting note, was the low percentage of Podcast consumption across the board. Just goes to prove yet again, how inaccurate anecdotal personal interactions we have day to day can be. How many times have we in the industry heard: 'Oh, I don't listen to traditional radio anymore, just Podcasts.' Yeah, right.
