Reboots

Tried to review all past postings in this thread but didn't see any mention
of "BATTLESTAR GALACTICA" was is suppose to premier on NBC's Peacock
streaming service. I understand the new reboot is suppose to be more in
line with the first/original series done by Glen Larson.

the show had a previous stint on ABC back in the 2000's as a spinoff of "Extreme Makeover" as a plastic surgery reality show.

Extreme Makeover: Home edition is one of the few shows where a spinoff is more popular than the original show back when ABC had the broadcasting contract for that show. Even Mickey Mouse did a parody of Extreme Makeover Home edition

Wonder Years under consideration for a reboot.

ABC is bringing back “The Wonder Years,” putting in development a new take from “Empire” creator Lee Daniels, that will shift the focus to a Black middle class family in Alabama.

The new version will be directed and executive produced by Fred Savage, who starred as Kevin Arnold on the original series. Neal Marlens, who co-created the series with Carol Black, will serve as consultant on the Daniels-led version. The new “Wonder Years” will take place in the same era, the 1960s, but relocate to Montgomery, Alabama during the height of the Civil Rights movement.

Weakest Link under consideration for a reboot

The network has greenlit 13 episodes of the rapid-fire game show, with production set to begin later this year. Per NBC, the new version — which arrives two decades after the original U.S. iteration launched on NBC in 2001 — “will deliver the fast-paced and quick-witted pillars of the original British format created by the BBC with a few modern twists. The hybrid game show sees contestants answer general knowledge questions to bank prize money across multiple rounds. At the end of each round, the contestants vote out who they perceive to be the Weakest Link remaining.”

We've already had the Black "Wonder Years", though it was in the 'hood. It was called "Everybody Hates Chris". A very well done show. And Chris Rock was outrageous in his narration, while the actors were ... not straight, but funny in a sophisticated way.

It hasn't been done in the South, though.

I think that’s the point, they want to do it in the South.

Batter up.

Months after wrapping production on the pilot, Amazon has handed out a series order for its reboot of A League of Their Own.

Broad City's Abbi Jacobson and Will Graham created the hourlong series, which is described as a reinterpretation of the original nearly 30-year-old feature film about the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. The Amazon take, which stars Jacobson, will have the spirit of Penny Marshall's beloved movie while expanding its lends to explore race and sexuality as the series follows a new ensemble of women carving out their own paths in the league and outside of it.
