Brooke & Jeffrey Join Star 93.3/Austin for Morning Drive

https://news.****************/artic...effrey-Join-Star-933-Austin-for-Morning-Drive

Starting May 4th Star 93.3 FM will get Brooke & Jeffrey on the Morning Drive from Iheart's Premiere Networks.

Waterloo Media's KGSR-FM (Star 93.3) Austin adds Premiere Networks' Seattle-based syndicated morning show Brooke & Jeffrey to the AC outlet's weekday morning lineup from 6-10am, beginning Monday, May 4. The new weekday lineup also includes PD Krash Kelly (10am-1pm), Evan (1pm-3pm) and Rachel Marisay (3-7pm).

"We couldn't be more excited to be part of Waterloo Media's Austin team," said Brooke. "Krash Kelly's energy, expertise and leadership at STAR 93.3 is a real dream for us. This partnership could not be better matched and we can't wait to get on air to start killing it together."

Waterloo Media is starting to look like an awful company... first they took away the mighty great KGSR 93.3 signal. Then they decided to move KBPA 103.5 from San Marcos to Austin. Now they decided NOT to move KROX 101.5 to the Buda transmitter that KBPA will be leaving soon.

*This will leave San Marcos without a perfectly clear Austin signal, meaning a station with zero interference/static on your radios.*

I emailed them to ask if they are still planning to re-file to move KROX to Buda, but I never got a response. This was 2 weeks ago.

How sad.

According to the KBPA filing, they are losing access to the tower near Buda that 103.5 has been on (it doesn't look like they own it). That land is going to be redeveloped and the tower taken down. I'm not sure they had much of a choice in the move. Either way, San Marcos is in the Austin market, but not by very much and is a relatively small amount of listeners compared to the Austin market as a whole. The move into Austin, although possibly not by choice, will be a good upgrade overall for most of Bob FM's listeners. Moving 101.5 to Buda would have been a downgrade for most of 101X's listeners as that site is far from the center of the market.

I'm not clear how Waterloo/Emmis trying to find the best way to keep serving the most listeners makes them look like an "awful company".
