Little Richard Dies (1932-2020)

“It is with a heavy heart that I ask for prayers for the family of my lifelong friend and fellow Rocker ‘Little Richard.’ He will live on always in my heart with his amazing talent and his friendship! He was one of a kind and I will miss him dearly. God Bless his family and fans. Rest In Peace, my friend. Love Eternally, Jerry Lee Lewis.”

The majority of my circle has always considered the HOF a national joke since they fell off the wagon.

Most people thought Jerry Lee would be lucky to see 40.

So now, Jerry Lee Lewis really is the last man standing!

Tony Bennett (93), Harry Belafonte (93), Ed Ames (92), John Mayall (87), Lloyd Price (87), Petula Clark (87), and Pat Boone (85) are among the singers that are Lewis' age or older and are still active. Bennett and Belafonte are among the few entertainers still with us that are World War II veterans.

There's also Willie Nelson (87), but Firepoint may have meant among the earliest
rockers.

I don't know if he ever performed on "SNL" but they showed his picture.

If he did perform, maybe they didn't have time to change the prime time episode, but they did a Mother's Day episode hosted by Christina Applegate that featured THE MAN WHO LIVED IN A VAN BY THE RIVER. And maybe next week's episode will be his.

How is that man still alive?

I just saw an editorial cartoon which calls Little Richard "Architect of Rock". Actually, that's not true. "Rock" is a mostly unpleasant style of music (in my opinion) that evolved from the true rock and roll, the music for which Little Richard is the Architect. Or one of them.
