KVVU-TV Named Broadcast Home for Las Vegas Raiders

https://www.broadcastingcable.com/news/kvvu-tv-named-broadcast-home-for-las-vegas-raiders

Meredith has announced that KVVU has the broadcast rights to air Raiders pre-season games.

KVVU-TV, Meredith’s Fox affiliate in Las Vegas, has been named the official broadcast home of the NFL Raiders, which are moving to Sin City this season.

Under the multi-year agreement KVVU gets exclusive market rights to carry Raiders pre-season games. During the regular season, the station will exclusively air the Raiders’ post-game shows and coach John Gruden’s week press conferences.

Beyond that, KLAS/channel 8 will air at least nine of the regular season games out of CBS. Fox/ch. 5 will air three (one simulcast with NFL Network), NBC/ch. 3 will have three and ESPN will have one. The week 16 tilt against Miami hasn't had a date or telecast determined as of yet.

Since KVVU carried the pre-season games when they were in Oakland nothing changed (except the team moving of course) ;)

Now Nexstar also claims broadcast rights to Raiders games given the obvious that KLAS will air Raiders games via CBS Sports

even more interesting is that KRON San Francisco (the city that previously had the Raiders for 25 years) and KTLA Los Angeles ( Another City that the Raiders was in back in the 1980's and early 1990's) is getting preseason games.

Nexstar Broadcasting and the National Football League’s Las Vegas Raiders, today announced they have reached an exclusive agreement on a content partnership and broadcast rights that will deliver Raiders’ pre-season football games and a variety of related programming to five Nexstar television markets across three states, reaching more than 9 million television households.

The multi-year agreement makes KTLA Los Angeles, KRON San Francisco, KTVX Salt Lake City, KHON Honolulu and KGET Bakersfield, Calif., the “Official Home of the Raiders” in their respective markets, with rights to air Raiders’ pre-season games; The Silver and Black Show, an annual NFL draft special; as well as a special preview of the upcoming season and regular post-game programming throughout the regular season. The broadcasts kicked off in April with an hour-long 2020 NFL pre-draft special.

Nexstar stations in the Bay Area, LA, SLC, Bakersfield, and Honolulu will air Raiders programming, and will be allowed to call themselves The Official Home of the Raiders.

But not, apparently, in Las Vegas. KVVU will be airing all Raiders-related programming, including coaches shows and all preseason games, and will be The Official Raiders Station in Vegas. Don't ask me whether the Nexstar stations will simulcast KVVU or will produce their own broadcasts with their own announcers. Explanation from The506.com board will be necessary.

But in Las Vegas Nexstar's KLAS-TV will air Raiders games during the NFL Season whenever CBS Sports is airing NFL games.
