NOAA Weather Radio heard on 1220

Yesterday (5/22) shortly before 6 p.m. I was in a parking lot off Route 5 in Meriden and heard a weak signal on 1220 rebroadcasting NOAA Weather Radio. The forecast was for Southwestern Connecticut. I listened for about 20 minutes, hoping to hear a break-in for an ID, but there was none. I just checked this morning and it seems to be gone.

Any idea what I might have been hearing? Has anything happened with the old WQUN license? Could it have been early-stage, low-power testing by a new operator on 1220? The signal was significantly weaker than WQUN's used to be at this location.
 
QU needs to put WQUN the station on the air by 5/31 to prevent being deleted. Whether the weather you heard is the entirety of a pro-forma broadcasting session so that they can request further silent authority, or whether they intend to be on the air through the next week remains to be seen.

they only need to be on for 2 to 3 days to go back off and request authority

Someone suggested some QU employee just wants to remove any obvious QU connection
