No one in their right mind would have hired them after their last incident. They're done in Rochester. They should be done in broadcasting. Some things just aren't funny. Maybe they can become tour guides in a dinosaur park.
Not knowing anythign about the rochester market, heres what i assume.
they were very popular before they got fired the first time.. the station that hired them needed some attention and a ratings boost, but knew what they were getting into.. yet hired them anyways. Telling them to be a bit edgy and knew that there might be some bad publicity along the way. I wouldnt be entirely surprised to see the hosts at some point say they were told to get real edgy etc
Now.... as member of a community that is sometimes marginalized by edgy radio hosts, i dont excuse their behavior or comments at all. Theres ways to do edgy radio without doing this.. twice

I think it's telling the only time I hear about these two is when they cross the line. Prior to that and between incidents, I didn't. Not that I'm omniscient by any means, but one could get the impression that courting controversy is their main "skill" - one that isn't very marketable especially in the current climate.
Never means anything when the apology is obviously being read off a script.
They toiled in Rochester. Not exactly the highest profile market. Why Clear Channel (Iheart) picked them up (and kept them in the same market) is inexplicable. Maybe they could have started over in Des Moines or some other mid market. Now they can try to get jobs as Uber Drivers and spew their toxic banter to their passengers. Another Radio gig is not likely...
They got a second chance because the GM thought they could be revenue drivers. That same GM gassed them. According to a well-placed source who for years worked in Rochester, each of these two nitwits was paid six figures to spew his/her vitriol. Of course they're sorry. It's hard to pay Brighton taxes and cover a new car lease on NYS unemployment. That said, there's a bonehead GM somewhere in America in desperate need of a morning show that will "shake things up" ... and there's a dimwitted PD somewhere who will find their act "cutting edge."
If these clowns were making six figures in Rochester, then the GM deserves to get canned. Even with ratings bonuses and commercial endorsement fees, that's too high a number for that market. Those who have survived the COVID 19 layoffs are facing pay cuts (and no raises anytime soon)...
They likely were making that - as do the morning shows (and some afternoon) on most Rochester stations. And your coronavirus argument is wrong because they generate more revenue during those shows so they're the last lambs to be sacrificed.
