The next chapter for Mistress Carrie

she also incorporated a business for IIRC production and promotions.

It is in the MA Secretary of State corporate database, easy to find if you know her last name

So, in a way, she’s taking the torch into her own hands and continuing the mission to bring new and exciting music to the masses with the podcast, and while she’s excited for the opportunity, there is a certain amount of nerves present as she soldiers on.

If she thinks she is going to play music in this podcast, she should first speak with a lawyer. Playing music in podcasts requires paying a digital music royalty to the writers, artists, labels, and musicians. It's not like FM radio where everything is taken care of.

I was thinking of Carmelita who had done a local music show on AAF, though Carrie may have played some local music. The Bay State Rock show may exist as a podcast too.

Anything is possible. All I'm saying is she should check with a lawyer before playing music in a podcast.

JFC !!!

Carrie has been in the business 25+ years, Carmelita has been in the business close to 40 if I had to take a guess.

Both have done shows where getting clearances were part of the prep, Joe and his Crappy Garage Band with their own songs are not in ASCAP, BMI, or any other licensing entities control so you know they had to sign a release.

If she is taking submissions from local bands with original songs you can bet her submit your songs here page has a disclaimer releasing rights to her to use them in a podcast.

This is also why you trash any unsolicited submissions without even listening to them, because you don't want Joe to claim that you stole the song from him later on, or you played it for an artist that then stole your unsolicited treatment

Since it is now in the public , the name of her company is Big Foot First Productions

I have not caught the podcast yet, but the 4th one released today seems interesting.

What I did catch was her Tuesday night FB live show, and it was AMAZING.

Why she is not doing TV somewhere is beyond me.

She was in front of a camera for an hour, and outside of short comments on FB replies, she spent an hour non stop discussing different things without a pause, an "Ah" or anything.

She discussed the podcast, she promoted the 4th one in the series, she discussed the software and production aspects, continuity in editing and why she does not edit guest comments as it can change the intent, this was not some Stern, O&A,or single digit IQ conversation, she set the bar very high and cleared it.

She spoke very passionately on a subject that is near to her, the U S Military in a way that did not make one who is not fluent in military operations understand the points she was making.

There are people in radio and TV in this market that could take lessons from her.

It was the most professional thing I have seen or listened to in a loooong time.

I am seriously impressed.
