The Good Doctor is reportedly resuming production in mid-July. It is mostly filmed in Vancouver. At least the first two episodes of Season 4 have already been written and casting has already been finalized, as Jasika Nicole (Dr. Carly Lever) recently announced that she was delivered the news that her character will not be returning for Season 4.

TGIF should come back on Fridays.

Friday is the worst day for ratings. Thursday is the best, which is why it changed to TGIT.

TGIF has enough classic sitcoms that they should start a diginet. It could work on the ABC owned stations (would have to be their .3 channels because of Localish) and other groups could pick it up as well.

the -3 on ABC O&O is Laff (except Chicago where Laff is on the Univision)

No. There’s plenty of old TV stuff floating around. Another one devoted to that narrow a concept is frankly silly. They had, what, three or four actually memorable comedies?

Look, ABC tried reviving it just a couple of seasons back. It’s dead.

Maybe Growing Pains,Home Improvement remakes or even Brady Bunch with the people in the sequel Movie or even Fuller House.

ABC has found a very comfortable spot for 20/20 on Friday night. It was once an hour, and now they've expanded to 2 hours. That's two hours ABC News gets in prime time that helps pay for a lot of regular news coverage. The cost is much lower than scripted comedy. Everyone seems happy with it there.

I would watch "Fuller House".

Maybe one day Hulu will give me another free month. I hate watching stuff online and I just watched what I had to.

It seems pointless to pay for anything when no one has it all any more.

I don't see how this generation would even care about watching reboots of those shows. Do you know how old the cast of the Brady Bunch movies are now? Would make no sense. Fuller House just ended it's run on Netflix. The cast is done

Then get a new "Brady Bunch" cast.

And what rule says "Fuller House" can't have reruns on ABC?

I meant a diginet of old TGIF sitcoms. Not Fuller House reruns on ABC. I would actually like to see Fuller House reruns in weekly syndication. But not a chance that you will see them on ABC.

But speaking of syndication...I am surprised that American Housewife hasn’t got a syndication deal. But maybe I shouldn’t be. Syndication isn’t what it used to be.

Once a show finishes its network run, it basically becomes property of the production company. They determine where it goes. Fuller House is owned by Warner Brothers so it may go to TBS or HBO Max.

American Housewife is only in its 4th year now. They usually wait to get 5 years before syndication, so that should come next year. That's a Disney show so it's in-house.

BTW don't we already have a lot of channels re-running old sitcoms? How many channels do we need rerunning old stuff?

News (or should I say real-crime) programming in prime time will likely increase this fall with the difficult logistics of production for other entertainment genres in the current pandemic environment.

Seems like the typical summer rerun season could last indefinitely.

Not really looking forward to that kind of a TV environment. Eventually people will have their fill of reruns no matter the platform, traditional real-time (broadcast) or streaming. I don't ignore the news, but an hour a day is about my limit.
