I noticed a couple of weeks ago that CBS News is airing at the top of the hour on POTUS. Sirius takes the first three minutes, along with a commercial. But the final 90 seconds is not heard. Actually, most CBS/Entercom stations don't take that last segment either.
POTUS had used AP Radio News when I first started listening. When AP stopped offering 24/7 service a few years ago, POTUS switched to Westwood One News. Westwood One is the Cumulus national newscast that never identifies itself. The anchor says his/her name a few times but not the name of the network.
Westwood One remains the hourly newscast on the Progress Channel. Townhall News, from Salem Media, continues at the beginning of each hour on the Patriot Channel. And on NPR Now, we hear an NPR national newscast each hour.
It's amazing that there are ten radio networks in the U.S. that offer hourly newscasts.
--CBS
--ABC
--Fox (heard on most iHeart talk stations)
--Westwood One (owned by Cumulus)
--NPR
--Townhall (owned by Salem)
--SRN (also owned by Salem but a separate operation)
--NBC (owned by iHeart but only on a few iHeart stations)
--USA/IRN (mostly on Christian stations)
--AP (weekdays and evenings only)
In most markets, even large ones, you are likely to only hear two or three of these network newscasts. I'm in the NYC market and don't hear anyone airing ABC, Fox, NBC, USA/IRN or AP. I'm not sure if our local Salem religion station, 570 WMCA, even airs co-owned SRN news. I rarely listen to 570 but I've never heard it.
