Hugh Downs

What a legend. I'm glad he lived a long and prosperous life and may he forever RIP. Another game show host and TV legend goes up to the sky.

Wow. He lived a long time. He was the host of "Today" when I first watched it. And I remember him on "Concentration".

And of course "20/20" when I actually watched that. Reunited with Barbara Walters.

I remember bumping into him at the Metropolitan Opera.

Mr. Downs was a true gentleman. May he rest in peace.

Hugh on Concentration was must-see-TV for me from age 2 to 12. His dry "oh, swell!" when blank portions of a puzzle were revealed were always hilarious. (Bob Clayton was no slouch at the show himself.)

Yep.
He was the host of Concentration back in my grandmother's day(1960s)

It's amazing that Hugh's broadcasting career went back to 1939, and his TV career back to 1945. Is there anybody left who did pre-WW2 broadcasting?

Bob Barker I think? He was in the radio biz around WWII pre Truth or Consequences. Still alive at 96 and may he make it to 100 :)
