Who Grabs the WJJL Call Letters

Countless posts regarding the WEBR call letters. The fact is, WJJL has quite a legacy in its own right here in Western New York. The call letters have been debased over the last 20 years, but it's a more than attractive call sign that can be rehabilitated. So the question, will the call letters migrate? And where next?

No truth to the oblique rumor that a station near Ossining, NY wants them for a planned format called "The Jail, Captivating Hits of All Time While Doing Time."

It's more likely that a female-based FM somewhere east of the Mississippi grabs WJJL for a format dubbed "Jill FM. Playing what we think we want, but we're not sure. We'll let you know. We might change our mind. And if we do, it's your problem, not ours."

Long slogan... but it's all about differentiation.

There is virtually NO cachet to having those call letters in WNY at this point. I can't imagine anyone local wanting to grab them.

Can't argue that point. Some distant station owner may find the calls to have value.

WJJL would be perfect for an (AM) all comedy radio station. I'm not sure what they'd use WJ for, but JL = Just Laughs.
This assuming, the intent is to forget the true history of the calls WJJL.
I'm merely brainstorming ideas though. No fact intended. lol

This is Joana Nicola Phillips big chance! (For those who have read these boards for a long time you will know what I'm talking about).

Is any station still running a comedy format? I remember seeing it tried in several markets, usually as a placeholder while a B-list talk lineup could be put together or a transition to leased ethnic took place. Did it ever have staying power or significant listenership or ad revenue anywhere?
