Hello Folks,

My longtime radio station KCEE (Tuscon, AZ) ceased operation about 6 months ago. Many years ago i used to listen to KABL 960 in the SF market.

Can anyone refer me to a new station. I am interested in the kind of Adult Standards the AM stations used to play in the mid 90's.

Artists like Jack Jones, Frank Sinatra, Steve Lawrence, Kirby Stone Four, Seekers, Lettermen, Perry Como, Vicky Carr, Carpenters, Engelbert, Tom Jones etc.

Any referrals would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Mike

and you expect that to be on commercial radio and commercially viable? Find an internet station!

From what I'm hearing you should love WEBR in Buffalo.

https://webr1440.com/

They were playing "The Lady Is a Tramp" by Buddy Greco last time I checked.

that owner also owns another business and i bet very little of the talent is live, therefore reducing costs and not dependent on the station to be his sole bread winner

Listening at 8:30 am on a weekday, there appears to be news and weather updates as well as
traffic accident updates. Did you look at their website?????

On Sirius/XM (also streaming) try 'Seriously Sinatra' or 'Escape'. They kind of bracket what you want. BTW, I used to love the old, old KABL.

What I have done, but not for this genre, is to create my own station on Pandora, and then slowly populate it with what I like. Means hitting a lots of 'thumbs up' and 'skip' for a while.

Check out the tribute station online for San Francisco's KABL 960.

btw, doesn't KTUC-AM 1400 in Tucson still offer adult standards?

There are many stations around the US still playing Adult standards. You just have to look for them. Apparently you did not know this.
My three favorite terrestrial stations for Standards are: WLML Palm Beach FL, Mod 107.3 Palm Springs CA, and KTUC Tucson AZ, and yes, there are still more out there. KDKK, KBRD, CJNU, KNCT, WEBR / KNCT, Easy 107.9, and KAHM for B/EZ, non-commercial ones and more. The music is too good to die!

CJNU and KBRD are non comms, so they dont count in the commercial world of the format. WEBR is a hobby station that might make money

I wasn't referring to commercial radio only, but in general, that there are still stations where you can hear standards. We all know by now, the lack of money making opportunity in the commercial side of the format. I just like the fact that you can still hear it on the radio here and there. Radio can still be more than just about making a buck.
