Totally 90s 104.5?

Boooo...lol. Curious why you don't see it happening

It's 10th or 11th in billing, but all the stations from 5th i billing to 12th are clustered near the same level. So unless a change would make the station "Top 5" in billing, they would lose money on a change and, more important, lose money big time in making the switch.
 
Not even likely. You get plenty of 90s songs on 99.5 Kiss (and by plenty, I mean the same 5 songs from the same 5 bands).

It hard to imagine iheart is content with the performance of 104.5. It's ranked last out of the 100,000 watts stations, in SA.

YEs, money is everything.. this is a business .. a few extra listeners with a new format wont mean shite to a formats billing

Obviously the poster knows nothing about radio. Radio is a business. It has bills to pay. It has salaries to pay. The frequency itself is enormously expensive. Like every other business, money is everything. Listeners can make a difference? How? I might suggest you contribute your net pay. I doubt you'd do that because, like radio, you have bills to pay yourself but my suggestion is akin to what you are suggesting a radio station do. Sure, listeners is the product you sell that gets you the cash to operate but for many applications it's not the quantity as much as the right ones. Not all radio advertising is sold on ratings.

From my radio experience: To my Boss/Owner, I want to... Boss/Owner Answer: How does that make me money? If I have a good answer I get what I want but only on condition it makes my boss money.

Gotta love voice to text.

Here’s the problem with your statement:
1. Money is literally EVERY thing in radio. Radio is a business. It’s what pays the bills and keeps the lights on. If playing 90s hits would make more money than Spanish hits, I’m sure iHeart would’ve flipped it by now.

2. All 90s is still super niche.

3. “A Listener Can Make A Difference”? Hmmm?

Don’t you have reception reports to log? Maybe complain about translators and LPFMs?

PPMs came out today.....another drop 1.8. I believe this is their lowest PPM.

All 90s format, maybe not. But the fat lady is warming up.....
 
Totally 90’s, at least so far, isn’t catching on in Miami. I wouldn’t look for it to be duplicated anywhere unless that changes.
 
Ironically it was late newspaper sportswriter and TV sportscaster Dan Cook that coined the phrase "the opera ain't over 'til the fat lady sings" shortened to "it ain't over 'til the fat lady sings". I got to see the final sportscast. The TV station spent the entire newscast with a history of his 51 year career. I think it was 48 years on TV as the sports anchor with the station.

Miami is such a unique market that we might find that something that fails there is very likely to work anywhere else in the USA. In the younger demos it is less than 20% non-Hispanic white, and the whole flavor of the market is influenced by the Latin and Haitian cultures (and the Hispanic culture there is uniquely Cuban, Colombian, Venezuelan and very unlike San Antonio or the Southwest).
