Radio luz is no more??

I can’t confirm it since I’m away from home. But according to their Facebook pages LA NUEVA is back on 94.1 FM. And can’t find no sign of RADIO LUZ anywhere.

Another musical chair Transalator illegally broadcasting . K231CN 94.1 does not rebroadcast KJOZ 880am. These great spiritual leaders "pastor" from Aleluya Broadcasting and Centro Cristiano continue to lie on FCC applications.

who cares! get over it.. Most of the big companies lie about other things. I'm sure the change was to be in line with the San Antonio station they have with the same name. Not sure it's a change in format.
I'm sure Houston has more to talk about.

Really? Name an equivalent blatant breaking of the law elsewhere in the industry.

I'm sure the change was to be in line with the San Antonio station they have with the same name.

That is not a valid excuse.

Not sure it's a change in format.
I'm sure Houston has more to talk about.

And the Houston board can accommodate more than one subject at a time.

In truth, the failure to observe rules and regulations by a small number of translator and fringe facilities is of considerable interest to many.

Sorry did i touch a raw nerve? LOL. Please enlighten us with your wisdom and elaborate what unlawful lies big Companies present to the FCC? I highly doubt I heart, Cumulus, Entercom, Emmis or Univision would be involved in questionable behavior (moving in stations with no tower contracts, using wrong antennas to broadcast, no hd channels, no AM stations to rebroadcast, broadcasting from wrong tower sites,
lying on over 30 applications in the city of houston , over powering , using a nonprofit organization or churches for 100% profit. Please tell us when any of the companies mentioned were involved in such questionable actions??? I hope you understand the public holds nonprofits/Churches to higher ethical standards than any normal company or businesses. Over 25 percent of Americans report having a lot of confidence in charitable organizations and Churches. So next time you see these "spiritual leaders" making the most persistent pleas for money tap into something called the prosperity gospel, which hinges on a belief that your health and wealth are controlled by God, and God is willing you to be prosperous just remember your sipping the kool aid. Feel free to think this one through for yourself.

Sounds like this is personal...

You don’t have to be an engineer to understand the FCC rules. As a translator you’re supposed to rebroadcast the primary station on your license that FCC has given you. Now that said, you can get away with it but one day you get caught, especially if you do it more often.

Just like a red traffic light, you can get away with it until you get in an accident.

The bigger issue here is it’s not right that Univision, Cumulus, Entercom, etc Have paid millions of dollars for a full power station to have to compete (not really but a thorn on the side) with a station that wants to run as a full power with their own programming. This is also why this spectrum in Houston is so overcrowded with subpar programming and the evolution of block programming (snooze button anyone??).

Don’t get me started with overpowering the translator....save that discussion for another thread.

I'll tell you what, for every example you can come up with of big corporate radio doing something illegal in the age of the translator invasion, I'll return one from these translator operators.

Deal?

Back on topic, I too am hearing La Nueva back on 94.1 after an almost three year absence. Their Facebook page lists the following frequencies:

96.1 FM HUMBLE TX.
107.3 FM CONROE TX.
90.5 FM SAN ANTONIO TX.
99.5 FM CORPUS CHRISTI TX.
99.3 FM VICTORIA TX.
94.1 FM LA NUEVA HOUSTON TX.

I have heard La Nueva on 96.1, which would be KCDF-LP sometimes mixing with KTRU-LP near The Heights. And I've heard the 107.3 Conroe signal in the past.

Possibly related: La Nueva had been on KCDE-LP 95.3 in northwest Houston, but I found South Asian music running on the station this afternoon (8/1.) No announcements, other than a TOH ID that crashed into the middle of a song. Not a simulcast of one of the other South Asian FMs; no idea who the programmer is.

This will be fun.... Tell us what illegal activities I heart, Cumulus, Entercom and Univision might be involved in? I can make you a long list from the LPs/Non profit organization/Churches and Pastors.

Raw nerve? Not for me. i worked for Clear channel for a very long time and my current employer is one of the other companies mentioned so they probably would not appreciate it. Do i agree with everything some of the translators have done heck no, but to each their own. Don't make it personal guys we are just trying to keep the forum alive.

Your Intuition & subconscious judgment is wrong. Your initial opinion changed. One day you attack the Big Broadcast Companies and defend the deranged actions taken by the Transalators/Church Owner and "Pastors " and the next day you claim to be employed by a big Broadcaster in Houston.
The truth is that, everyone around here has an opinion to share. It is their opinion so they are all entitled to it. Stick to your initial opinion and don't change things around. I have a strong disagreement with appropriators from time to time on issues of course I do but I don't change my story around.
