Good morning,
I have recently been given a used AERO.air II (newer model) by Linear Acoustic.
I am having an unbelievably difficult time getting the box to recognize the audio coming in through its inputs.
The audio is coming from PC and thus far I have tried the following audio interfaces:
- Orban Optimod PC-1101 breakout cable w/Canare 110-75 Ohm transformers (as Linear Acoustic suggests)
- ESI U24 XL using it's digital IN and OUT ports on RCA connectors with RCA to BNC cables
Needless to say, both attempts were unsuccessful. I've gone through the I/O Settings menu on the AERO.air and selected AES 1/2 as the input and output options for BNC ports 1 and 2.
The only way that audio is passed through the box is if I enable "Master Bypass". When all bypassing is disabled, no audio comes into the box nor leaves the box. This is apparent by:
1) The AERO.air's screen shows no audio activity on screen.
2) The Orban PC-1101 card's software mixer shows no audio is coming in through Digital Inputs.
I am very new to Linear Acoustic equipment. I have used the Orban PC-1101 with many other boxes with no issue. Typically though< I work in the analog world instead of digital and this is problematic only because Linear Acoustic machines do not have analog inputs (except for the dumbed down AERO.lite -- a great box but with limited parameter adjustment control).
Is there a particular USB or PCIe audio interface that you all can recommend that have worked successfully with Linear Acoustic hardware equipment? At this point, I am uncertain if the choice of audio interface devices am I using are the problem or if the particular AERO.air unit I have is ruined.
Any help would be very, very greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
