On wikipedia it says WCCT no longer simulcasts 90.9 WBUR. Because 89.1 WBUH is in Brewster and is 42,000 watts. So there is no point for WCCT to simulcast WBUR, right? Does the Cape Cod Tech school program the station now, or is it still a repeater?

WCCT stopped repeating WBUR several years ago when WBUR put their own Cape/Islands FM stations (89.1 WBUH Brewster, 92.7 WBUA Tisbury) on the air, but neither Wikipedia, Radio-Locator, or other radio station websites that list it seem to reflect that. Having worked at WBUR, I remember we stopped including it in the TOH ID years ago, and I was told we were no longer broadcasting on it.
I can't seem to find any current web presence at all for WCCT. I think Cape Cod Tech. may have done some programming for a while after WBUR left, maybe still does, but I don't know the current status. I can't find any current stream for them, and I haven't been down that way to check it on air. I seem to recall there was a page for it as a student station on the Cape Cod Tech. website a few years ago, but there seems to be no sign of it now.
I don't know whether it's even still on the air, but it's not listed as "off the air" on either the FCC website or Radio-Locator.
Oh okay, yeah I didn't find an online stream anywhere for it either so I was curious. Next time I go down I'll have to check. I don't get it at all where I am located. It's a mix between WRIU in Newport and WZBC in Boston here. I do know that they are building a new school down there in harwich to replace the older building, so maybe it would include a radio studio.![]()
WRIU is in Kingston (Rhode Island U.).
FCC database says the license is still active and current. Nothing in the correspondence file.
i did a pretty decent search of google and the schools own website and cant find any current mentions of wcct
Me too. I got nothing other than the wikipedia page for WBUR putting it under former repeaters. I guess we will wait and see once the new school is built if they'll update the website with a page for WCCT?I'm interested to know what format they play on it if they do the programming on the station.
If i think of it, i might contact the school directly and see what kidna answer i get
Contacted the school but haven't heard back. All the circumstantial evidence I have points to a very likely 312(g) problem.
Oh that's interesting! Would be a shame if the station is taken off the dial completely. But I haven't seen any evidence yet that WCCT will be in the new school building so that may happen.
You might want to check the Wikipedia article I wrote. School never replied, but there is an article from their high school paper in 2018 that raises all the 312(g) flags.
As for another Cape school station--WKKL 90.7 W Barnstable, Cape Cod Comm. College:
Wikipedia: "In late December 2019, WKKL stopped broadcasting on 90.7 FM due to equipment failure. However, the station is still streaming online. College officials are weighing if they will be able to afford to bring the station back on air, or if they will let go of their radio license and broadcast online.WKKL's General Manager is Naomi Arenberg, formerly of Boston's WGBH."
