Bonneville/Denver taps George Karl to join KKFN-FM (Sports Radio 104.3 The Fan) as a Denver Nuggets analyst, making appearances across the station's terrestrial and digital channels throughout the NBA restart in Orlando, including the NBA Playoffs. Karl is the sixth winningest coach in NBA history with 1,175 regular season victories. As head coach of the Nuggets from 2004-13, he led the team to the playoffs every season.

"I'm not sure there's anyone in Denver more excited about basketball restarting than Coach Karl," said Sports Radio 104.3 The Fan Program Director Raj Sharan. "We're thrilled to have Coach Karl appearing on all of our shows to give his opinion on what he's seeing from the Nuggets, delivering the honesty that he's known for."

I had a pretty similar thought. I remember seeing him in interviews as a coach in the mid-90’s for the former Seattle SuperSonics and thinking he wasn’t very likable on camera. I also always thought he was, by far, one of the dirtiest coaches of his time. I seem to remember his teams were well-known for playing zone defense when zone defenses were illegal.

I suppose he might be a little more likable on radio when you can’t see his facial expressions. I’ve had more than a few co-workers during my radio years who were completely unlikable in person only to have great rapport with listeners, but I wouldn’t be excited about tuning him in.
