WTCD 96.9 Greenwood Heard In Wyoming!

I heard WTCD 96.9 Greenwood here in Laramie, Wyoming on Thursday June 25th at 1124am mountain time. A distance of 1000 miles

Here's my WTCD audio:

I just had a phone call this morning from WTCD/WYMX GM Jim Chick, saying he appreciated my email, sent it on to station ownership and just wanted to respond to me personally and tell me he appreciated the email.

THAT'S CLASSY!

That's not to0 shabby for a 16,500 watt station

I've heard a 100 watt lpfm at 850 miles and a 250 watt translator at 1250 miles

Tropospheric ducting can do some wacky things.

It's a pain for me. With a 100 watt ERP, when things are rolling and bouncing off the atmosphere, I can't fend off a 70kw 88.1 from 200+ miles away that's hitting me with strong signal. Shaves my signal coverage down to 3-4 miles when its at its worst.

Just recently out in Ruleville, on US 49 I had KAYT from Louisiana south of the I-20 corridor booming over WDSW. That's out in my fringe coverage, but still KAYT was very strong and fully quieted 88.1 with just them.

Cheers.
