They preempted that for this?

A Florida Primary special on WFTV ABC 9 in Orlando Tuesday night was originally scheduled from 7-8 PM Eastern. Probably because "Oh no, we can't pre-empt Jeopardy!!", it was changed to 7:30-8:30, pre-empting Wheel of Fortune (which, as usual, was moved to WRDQ 27 at 6:30) and a repeat of Modern Family.

WSOC has Panthers Fan Fest instead of the ABC schedule August 26. I assume that'll be through before the convention. I will be taping "United We Fall" and "The Goldbergs" from WXLV. I have "The Goldbergs" episode already but there's a problem with moving it to my main TiVo.

WCNC is airing a special about schools tonight at 8.

“United We Fall” and “The Goldbergs”will be airing at 1:37 and 2:07 am that night in place of the Wendy Williams repeat. Bad timing for United We Fall fans, as if the show doesn’t return, it will be the final episode.

The Fan Fest special actually runs two hours, from 7-9. Inside Edition and Entertainment Tonight are airing on WAXN from 8-9, interestingly enough, in reverse order. ET at 8, Inside Edition at 8:30, replacing two episodes of Family Feud.

Saturday night there is another round (pun intended) of Boxing on FOX. Guides show 7-9 CDT but as we all know they seem to run over ;)
Lets see how long this one runs over :D

There is also a soccer game from 5-7

WSOC is pre-empting Shark Tank and the two hour 20/20 tonight for the replay of the Panthers 2003 Divisional playoff game in St. Louis, and also is pre-empting Inside Edition and Entertainment Tonight right now for a pregame show. According to TV Passport WSOC will air Shark Tank at 1:30 am this morning, followed by Inside Editon at 2:31 am and then ET. 20/20 will air tomorrow night at 12:05 am.

Flipped over to WAXN and they are airing Inside Edition here at 8...and ET at 8:30.

no it won't. If you saw my response right below that it was a one off due to originally being the "Field of Dreams" game in Iowa

Looking at guide listings on 8/27 there is no pregame on FOX. Game starts at 6pm CDT.

I just saw a promo for the 8/27 Phillies game that said it will start at 6:30 Eastern. Listings still have it starting at 7:00.

The main event didn't start until 5 minutes before the scheduled end of the show. The fight went the distance, which means the show ran about a half hour over. It could have ended earlier, but the opening match started nearly 20 minutes into the show. Far too much time was wasted throughout on interviews, highlights of previous fights and other hype. I have no idea whose fault this is. If it's the promotion's, you'd think Fox would lay down the law to PBC and tell it to tighten up its presentation, wouldn't you?

It actually overran just under an hour. FOX signed off around 10:56 PM Eastern, with pretty much everyone starting their newscasts on the dot. Just for the heck of it, I tuned to KDVR Denver to see if they would JIP Wheel of Fortune during the end credits, but they just aired commercials and started their 9:00 news at 8:59.

As for the other network sporting events tonight, NBA on ABC overran to 11:16, with most newscasts starting at 11:20. The Stanley Cup Playoff on NBC ended just in time for an on-schedule sign-off and proper 11:00 newscasts on the East.

unless you dont have news or pre-empt it then Ultimate Tag started at the top of the hour
KMSP Minneapolis had their 1 hr newscast
KEYC-DT2 Mankato went to ultimate tag. If the FOX programming runs past 9:30 CDT there is no news (as KEYC CBS has a 10pm news with same folks who do the 9pm)

Looks like both that game and Texas/Oakland are switched to 5:30PM CDT (it was recently changed)....assuming to get the game done for the president's speech at 9PM CDT

FOX bought the TV rights to the PBC so I'm sure FOX doesnt mind if a local affiliates newscast gets pre-empted or shifted to later.

Will FOX be airing the speech, though? They don't carry the rest of the conventions, but I get that they wouldn't want to cause any conflict with it regardless.

I know last week KMSP Minneapolis carried Thursday's speech
KEYC-DT2 did not (they had regular news)

KMSP is O&O whereas KEYC is owned by Gray

I don't know if WNYW aired Biden's speech or not, but they still have their usual 10:00 newscast listed for Thursday. MLB is still scheduled to end at 10:00, which is doable; 8/15's Red Sox/Yankees broadcast lasted <3.5 hours mostly thanks to the top team's failure to catch up ending the 9th inning early.

I guess maybe it will be like the impeachment, where FOX stations can opt to simulcast FOX News or just stick with normal programming. IIRC, WNYW opted to stream the coverage online while sticking with programming, while some of the other O&O's aired the coverage.

BTW, both Harris and Biden's speeches during the DNC didn't start until around 10:50 PM Eastern, and the latter was followed by several minutes of fireworks.
