https://radioinsight.com/headlines/...w-orleans-segues-from-classic-hits-to-hot-ac/

Well this is interesting. Nobody made a topic about this yet. The station will also add The Bert Show in mornings.

For those who are curious, here are the songs from the first hour (from Radioinsight):

Ariana Grande – Thank U, Next
Justin Bieber ft. Quavo – Intentions
Lewis Capaldi – Someone You Loved
Avicii – Wake Me Up
Jawsh 685 x Jason Derulo – Savage Love (Laxed-Siren Beat)
Shakira – Whenever, Wherever
Harry Styles – Watermelon Sugar
Halsey – Without Me
Taylor Swift – You Need To Calm Down
Drake ft. Wizkiz & Kyla – One Dance
Maren Morris – The Bones
Kygo & Whitney Houston – Higher Love
Lady Antebellum – Need You Now
Bruno Mars – Grenade
Charlie Puth – Attention

Why didn’t they keep POWER 102.9 as Urban? Can’t believe Q93 is the only HipHop/R&B station in town.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Core Communications is shopping and determining ways to bring a “Streetz” station to New Orleans. They once had HOT there before Katrina and they’ve returned to all the markets they once had as On Top Communications.

What station would even be in the market? I don't see Costello selling his signals. Perhaps a translator?

Fieldtech1 is correct; Remember Mike had to build a brand new station from scratch. There was no transmitter and studio equipment when On Top lost everything after Katrina.
As for Power 102.9 with a small signal was constantly getting killed by Q93 and WYLD. I liked the Classic Hits format of 106.7 Sad to see Cumlus destroy another cool station.
I am suprised they haven't done the same thing to 103.3 WRQQ Hammond
