They preempted that for this?

with the Baylor/Houston football game on Big Fox cancelled tomorrow (covid issues...shocking) looks like the 11-3 CDT slot is back to the affiliates.

Can’t move BC-Duke...Fox doesn’t have the right to televise ACC games.

The game is airing on NESN in New England right now. I assume everyone else has to use ACC Network.

All Big Four sports ran over today.

CBS: Their first College Football day this season, scheduled to 7:00 PM Eastern like last year. Tonight's final game ended at 7:07, and CBS is once again following it with lengthy postgame discussions regardless of how they're doing on time. CBS signed off at 7:18, with newscasts beginning or programming JIP'd at 7:20. WCBS has put ET Weekend back at 7:00 (after months of it being Paid Programming x 2), but it will probably never air in full until the season's over. KYW Philly probably assumes the same; they now air local news followed by the half-hour Inside Edition Weekend at 7:30, but their 7:00 news ran for a full 30 minites, JIP'ing the latter.

NBC: Stanley Cup game ended at 9:58, but an interview with one of the players caused the broadcast to run until 10:03. At 10:05, NBC nationally JIP'd SNL Vintage. Out West, KNDO in Yakima ran local news for half an hour, then ran Wheel of Fortune (which they normally air Saturdays at 6:30, not the usual 7:30) in full from 7:35-8:05, and NCIS was JIP'd afterward.

FOX: The Braves/Mets game ended after the top of the ninth and signed off around 10:47, with newscasts beginning at 10:49 on the East Coast. KDVR in Denver once again put Jeopardy! and Wheel in the hopeless 8:00/8:30 Mountain slots. J! did not air and Wheel was JIP'd during the fourth round.

ABC: Final CFB game overran to 11:25 PM Eastern. There was no postgame talk or "Ford Wrap-Up" at all. On the West Coast, this didn't seem to lead to any syndies or newscasts sliding back. KABC had a full hour of news scheduled for 8-9 Pacific but still ran it to just 9:00. Same with KOMO in Seattle, unlike last year where they would always run the news for an hour, then delay Wheel and Jeopardy! to air in full, and also delay their later newscast as a result. KGO in San Francisco appears to have cancelled its "After the Game" postgame show. It was on their lineup earlier this week, but was replaced with a half hour newscast, Localish filler, and Wheel/Jeopardy! at 10 and 10:30 (they previously had ATG from 8-9, J! at 9, Wheel at 9:30, and news at 10).

That's not exactly what they did. After Janet Jackson as Condi Rice showed off her breast (The Super Bowl was mentioned in the monologue) she said, "Live from New York it's Saturday Night!" The clock then showed only four minutes had passed. Which is probably how long I had been watching. It was obviously in the middle of the sketch that they started. Later, Simon Cowell first criticized a really bad musical group and then joined it, but it was obvious they started that one in the middle.

This is what Philly saw on WCAU: https://www.clippituser.tv/c/kevrdm

ABC was supposed to broadcast a WNBA game today from 3-5 PM Eastern, but it was postponed at the last minute due to inconclusive COVID-19 tests. Rather than just go off-air, ABC aired interviews and discussion about the situation for the first half hour. The remaining 90 minutes were filled with two ESPN documentaries that premiered this past summer: "The Hero of Goodall Park" and "Blackfeet Boxing: Not Invisible".

At least those shows actually air, and if fans still manage to miss it or have their DVR cut off the second half, they can watch it free online or On Demand the next day.

Sports run over. News breaks. There’s only so many hours on the clock. Those show’s fans my see them, but somewhere, something is getting cut. That’s life.

On Friday, my local FOX affiliate (WFQX) aired high school football, bumping off both of its local newscasts, TMZ x2, and one episode of Two Broke Girls, while delaying Smackdown an hour and a half. If they air any more HS football games this fall, I would expect the previous bumps and delays to hold.
