They preempted that for this?

And now the ESPN crawl has been updated yet again: Marlins-Cubs at 2 on ABC or 7 on ESPN, no conflict with the NBA Finals.

It was a typo. ABC was never going to air baseball at 7.

The last Thursday Night Football game before they go nationally to FOX for this season, Broncos/Jets is being carried on the following local stations in the teams' markets:

New York: WNYW FOX 5. Pregame starts at 7:00 PM Eastern.
The following programs are pre-empted: Extra (new), TMZ (new), The Masked Singer (repeat), the Let's Be Real puppet special, Family Guy (FOX repeat; syndie run is on WLNY), local news, and one of two Big Bang Theorys.
Extra normally repeats at 1:30 AM and 2:30 PM the following weekday. TMZ repeats at 4:00 AM and 2:00 PM the following weekday.
FOX primetime programming is moved to WWOR My 9 (still with the FOX logo).
MyTV's Dateline and Law & Order: Criminal Intent are moved to 11:00 PM and 12:00 AM, pre-empting the fifth and sixth runs of Family Feud (which are the same episodes as the first and second runs at 7:00 and 7:30 PM) and an encore of TMZ Live (first airs on WNYW at 4:00 PM).
WNYW's 10:00 news is shortened from 60 minutes to 35, and moves to 11:30 (or whenever the game finishes). Big Bang Theory x 2 and Modern Family x 2 slide back from 11P-1A to 12:05A-2A. Dish Nation at 1:00 AM (one of two encores; first airs on WWOR at 6:00 PM, and also airs the following weekday at 8:30 AM on WWOR) and the first of two encores of Extra are gone for the night (leaving only the next-day airing).
Side note: When was the last time FOX aired Family Guy, rerun or not, on a weekday?
Also just noticed that the Wednesday MyTV run of Dateline is bumped to midnight weekly for "Giants in 60" on WWOR Wednesdays at 8:00 PM.

Denver: KMGH ABC 7. Pregame starts at 5:30 PM Mountain. Postgame runs until at least 10:00.
The following programs are pre-empted: ABC World News Tonight, Local news, The List, Celebrity Family Feud, Press Your Luck, Match Game. All of the ABC game shows are new tonight.
The 4:00 newscast is shortened from 60 minutes to 30, World News moves to 4:30 live with the East Coast.
The List normally repeats at 12:06 AM. For some reason, the 12:06 airing is replaced tonight with another airing of Family Feud (syndicated), a repeat of the same episode that aired earlier at 3:00 PM, so The List is not on at all tonight.
Celebrity Feud is bumped to 1:37 AM replacing two infomercials.
Press Your Luck and Match Game are bumped to 1:37 and 2:37 AM on Friday night/Saturday morning, replacing the infomercials and an encore of Kelly Clarkson. Only Friday episodes of Kelly get an overnight encore. Since Friday's main run of Kelly at 2:00 PM is expected to be pre-empted by MLB, Friday's episode of Kelly will not air until 2:05 AM Saturday night/Sunday morning, replacing the second of two Wipeouts.

I saw that. Two winless teams. What a disaster.

Another winless matchup this week is Vikings-Texans. That game is on Fox at the same time as Browns-Cowboys, also on Fox.

Here’s the disaster for the Texans and a statement of their perception amongst NFL fans in the Lone Star State: Houston (KRIV) will be the ONLY Texas market getting the game. EVERY OTHER MARKET IN TEXAS gets the Cowboys.

Almost 20 years after their inception, the Texans still have a huge amount of work to do to gain credibility. Ouch.

The Monday night football game aired on the ABC affiliate in Kansas City on Monday. I'm pretty sure ABC Programing got moved to late night.

I am not sure any Stations in Baltimore aired it. WBAL obviously didn't air it because of the Stanley Cup Final.

It's actually been a decent bit of entertainment so far. 27-25 Denver with 6 minutes left. But I've only been watching it in two-minute snatches during breaks in Cardinals-Padres, a knock-down, drag-out slugfest that the Padres are trying their best to give away after rallying from 4-0 down to 11-8 up. Now 11-9....

nope. DWTS was pre-empted

NHL got pushed to the .2 MeTv station (which is in SD). The football game was on WBAL

At around 5:20 PM Eastern, the bottom of the ninth of the Cubs game got pre-empted on ABC due to breaking news of the President's COVID-19 diagnosis. A graphic was present throughout noting that the rest of the game would continue airing on ESPN as normal.

All of the Big Four pre-empted 5:30 and 6:00 ET programming. ABC signed off at 6:30 in time for World News Tonight. FOX signed off sometime between 6:30-45. CBS and NBC ran coverage until 7:00, pre-empting their national news programs on most East Coast stations, but presenting the option to air them at 7:00 instead of 6:30. WCAU in Philadelphia aired NBC Nightly News at 7:00, their 7:00 newscast at 7:30, and pre-empted Access Hollywood.

In DC, WJLA ABC 7 pre-empted Wheel of Fortune for more coverage, but signed off at 7:30. WUSA CBS 9 already airs local programming at 7:00, and WRC NBC 4 already airs Nightly News at 7:00.

Why would ABC be carrying a game on the first day, when only four games are scheduled, if the plan is to use it after the second day only if no other option is available? Seems to me that ABC would get games all four days no matter how many of the series are still alive, while ESPN2, which is not part of the first-day lineup, would be the one left out after the second day if the AL series all end in two-game sweeps. "ESPN family of networks" includes ABC, remember. If it didn't, then ESPNU or ESPNNews would be getting games instead.
ESPU would get the WNBA before it EVER got MLB (Which REALLY should be on ESPN2 when not on Fox)

It's EVEN TOUGHER for the Cardinals who have the Chargers (And now the Rams) in their neighborhood

And didn't the Cardinals WIN A SUPER BOWL at one point??

No. They lost the only one they were ever in.
The Cardinals franchise, which started in Chicago, has only won two NFL championships, the last one 73 years ago!

And how do the Chargers, who attract hardly any interest in Los Angeles, constitute competition for attention in Phoenix?

Strange that the game would be on KMGH AT ALL since KTVD normally airs Broncos Preseason games (When THERE IS a Preseason that is)

Plus, what would tehy have done had the Nuggets gone to the NBA Finals? Scripps has NO duopoly in Denver (Though independent station KCDO 3 does re-air its newscasts approximately an hour after they air on KMGH). They would've had NO choice BUT to surrender the game to TEGNA or Nexstar (If not CBS)

The station that airs a franchise's preseason games has rights only to preseason games, and those games are produced by the station. This is a network production.

Yeah but the station that airs the Preseason rights usually (Though not always as they have the right of refusal) airs the MNF & TNF Regular Season games as well (Network production or not)

And since the game was produced by Fox, conventional wisdom makes you wonder why KDVR 31 (Who is the Fox affiliate) or KTVD 20 (MyNet affiliate owned by TEGNA who has the Preseason rights) didn't air it instead

The station that airs a franchise's preseason games has rights only to preseason games, and those games are produced by the station.

Actually most, if not all the stations carrying preseason games outsource those game productions. The teams themselves will handle all the details for making the broadcast happen; the station merely pays for the rights and carries the feed provided to them. The production staff is mostly freelancers.

Remember that most stations, due to staffing cuts and automation, have gutted or completely eliminated their production/creative service departments. So they no longer have the directors, technical directors, audio operators, camera people, graphics operators and other operations and engineering staff that could actually make a game telecast happen.
