In the Salieri works on this program, Elly Ameling sings 'Non temer' from the opera 'La fiera de Venezia' (one of 50 operas Salieri composed); and the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra performs the overture to 'Prima la musica e poi le parole' and the Concerto in C Major for Flute and Oboe. The orchestra's Mozart selections: the Piano Concerto No. 24 in C Minor (featuring Horacio Gutierrez); the concert aria 'Voi avete un corfedele' (featuring Ameling); the overture to 'Der Schauspieldirektor'; the Symphony No. 35 in D Major ('Haffner') and the recently discovered Symphony in A Minor, reputedly the first symphony Mozart composed.

Before KLBY became a KAKE satellite, KBSH and KBSL (then KAYS and KLOE) were listed as airing some ABC programming according to Television Factbook (and therefore not a straight simulcast of KTVH/KWCH; oddly, KAYS' owners bought then-KTVH in 1983). However, most cable customers did get the full ABC lineup via at least one of:
KAKE Wichita (either via microwave from Wichita or via KUPK Garden City)
KWNB Hayes Center (a satellite of KHGI Kearney)
KUSA Denver
KRDO Colorado Springs
KMBC Kansas City

Yes, KAYS was secondary ABC in the '60s. It actually started as an ABC station in 1958, which I'm surprised about because ABC was the weakest network in '58 and CBS wasn't in rural Kansas until 1962. You'd think a network that aired VERY popular western & family fare like Gunsmoke, Lassie and Ed Sullivan would have a presence locally...
If KLBY did go on as a standalone ABC without the help of KAKE, it would have been the smallest ABC affiliate in the U.S. and I think the smallest network affiliate anywhere in America besides KXGN.
