WLIM 1440 AM To Be Sold

Radio Cantico, owner of the station in Medford, has filed with the FCC to sell the license and transmitter for only $20,000. Apparently the sale does not include the land that the station occupies.
According to Wikipedia, Cantico had paid $150,000 when they had purchased the station 10 years ago.
WLIM carries The Breeze, a soft A/C format, which is rebroadcast on a translator, on 93.3 FM. The operator of this programming is the expected buyer.
This says something about the state of small AM radio stations, that one can be purchased even in the NYC metro for a pittance.

Purchase Agreement Filed With the F.C.C.: https://licensing.fcc.gov/cdbs/CDBS...?appn=101822149&qnum=5040&copynum=1&exhcnum=1

See the Connecticut forum for news of a similar AM in Hamden (near New Haven) that's been sold for only $3,000. No land, no antennas.
