They preempted that for this?

They really should be starting the games at 7:00 ET anyway like some of the summer games. How many more seasons are they going to keep scheduling postseason games for only three hours? That length for a broadcast is rare enough during the regular season as it is. I believe only one FOX game this season actually went under three hours.

That would be fine if the Dodgers weren't playing. If the game started at 4 PM Pacific time, it would be close to half over by the time many fans would be home to watch.

I just noticed last night that, for some illogical reason, WNYW is taking TMZ, which airs the same episode three times a day counting its usual 7:30 PM airing, and moving that airing to 6:30 on World Series and TNF days, which completely pre-empts the main run of 25 Words or Less (unless it replaces the second run at 12:30, but I doubt it).

Something interesting happened tonight. There was a CBS special report at around 7:40, while Jeopardy! airs in my area on WBZ and of course part of the show was pre-empted by it. But I can get a different CBS affiliate (WPRI) over the air which airs the show at the same time, but it did not air the special report. Do they normally have special reports that are on some affiliates but not others?

WFSB in Hartford which is the Merideth owned CBS station aired the special report. They were the only station in the market that did.

With WJZY airing TNF, sister WMYT aired Fox News’ coverage of the debate tonight. Note that it was Fox News’ coverage, not News Nation’s. It preempted Big Bang Theory at 9 and 9:30 and the first episode of Schitt’s Creek. It joined the second in progress shortly after 10:30. Listings do not show the preempted programs being rescheduled.

Not sure what other My stations aired the debate.

WFTC (Fox 9+ formerly My29) Minneapolis aired it as KMSP (Fox 9) had football. Both are O&O

WNYW, no surprise, moved it to WWOR My 9. However, it was only listed for one hour instead of two like the other networks. I imagine the 10:00 Family Feud (the third of six daily airings) was skipped and the 10:30 one was JIP'd.

NBC was originally the only one of the networks slated to air a debate preview special, and it was at first only half an hour, live at 8:30 ET. They eventually expanded it to an hour starting at 8:00 (I forget what NBC originally scheduled for 8, I think Connecting). ABC also added one for 8:00. CBS stuck with Big Brother.

Yeah I figured the other My stations that are in a duopoly with Fox O&O’s aired it.

local markets airing ESPN games for the next 6 weeks (ROFR means right of first refusal...not 100% confirmed but usually they will carry it)

11/2 MNF: TB-NYG (8:15 PM ESPN)
TB: WMOR (IND)
NYG: WABC (ABC) ROFR

Looks like WABC refused the 11/2 game, possibly because it would pre-empt the Season 4 premiere of The Good Doctor. The game will instead air on WPIX CW 11, as most of the NY MNF games do.

CBS College Football ended around 6:54 ET, but postgame caused it to overrun to about 7:10. KYW Philly started news at 7:12, and WPRI in Providence JIP'd Wheel of Fortune at the end of Round 2.

ABC overran to about 11:10. WPVI began the news at 11:14.

World Series Game 4, after an insane ending, did not sign off until about 12:44 AM, with newscasts beginning at 12:47.

Extra weekend, listed on DirecTV at 5, was pre-empted on WJZY for a political special, but here’s my issue. Doesn’t “The OT” usually run way past 4:30 ET on single header weeks for markets getting early games? Well, Black and Blue Postgame Live was scheduled to air at 4:30pm. But “The OT” ran til like 4:50pm. So the network might as well schedule “The OT” to 5, so WJZY can schedule Panthers postgame at 5, and a 30 minute syndie show at 5:30. Extra would’ve been joined in progress had it aired. And it would be nice to see the postgame show on WMYT on doubleheader weeks.

Tonight's MNF game was broadcast on both teams' ABC affiliates, resulting in the following programming changes:

WLS ABC 7 Chicago:
6:30 PM (pregame) - Wheel of Fortune - bumped to 3:34 AM, replacing an encore of Inside Edition
7:00 PM - Dancing with the Stars - bumped to 12:06 AM, replacing encores of Windy City Live, the 10:00 news, and half of Live with Kelly & Ryan
9:00 PM - Emergency Call - delayed to 12:06 AM Tuesday night/Wednesday morning
1:06 AM - 10:00 News (Encore) - moved to 2:06 AM following DWTS, replacing the other half of the Kelly & Ryan encore

KABC ABC 7 Los Angeles:
6:30 PM - ABC World News Tonight (encore) - pre-empted, but first airs live with the East at 3:30.
7:00 PM - Jeopardy! - airing on a one-day delay this week from Tuesday-Saturday with no previous season weekend rerun.
7:30 PM - Wheel of Fortune - Monday episode delayed to Saturday at 9:30 PM, replacing the previous season rerun. Tue-Fri eps will air the same days as everyone else.
8:00 PM - Dancing with the Stars - slides to 9:00 PM following "ABC7 Game Time" scheduled from 8:15-9:00.
10:00 PM - Emergency Call - bumped to 2:07 AM, replacing Kelly & Ryan encore.

Oddly, Zap2It and other TV providers had the normal lineup listed through Jeopardy! at 7:00. Wheel was not listed; 7:30-8:15 was listed as TBA, and everything after that was accurate.

Dodgers won the World Series. I was wondering if any stations in Los Angeles are airing coverage.

Not at this hour. KCAL worked it into their 9:00 newscast, but other than that, no. No way KABC is interrupting The Bachelorette, and KNBC definitely wouldn't mess with the two-hour season premiere of This Is Us.

Yeah, I don't think people are not going to be happy if both shows got interrupted. So I believe they going to save it untill there 11:00 PM newscast.
