Sean Connery: James Bond actor dies aged 90

Connery may have invented "Cool". Extremely gifted actor in many varied roles. "The Hunt For Red October" was one of his many memorable performances. Timothy Dalton and others did a fine job playing Bond, but Connery was the iconic "James Bond"...
 
I liked him in "The Last Crusade" and other roles I can't think of right now, and of course as Bond (ABC was trying to show all the Bond movies a few years ago, which is when I was introduced to him), but I'm sorry, Roger Moore was my favorite Bond.

Oh, and of course those clips from "SNL" from the "best of" shows. Who was that really?
 
When my ship was stationed in Vietnam for two years in the mid-60's we had practically nothing in English on the airwaves or in print. James Bond novels were very popular and we highly anticipated each new book. I saw "Dr. No" in Hong Kong with Chinese subtitles and it was a hoot watching the dialog come up seconds after the English and the reaction of the audience.

Those pictures got a little silly by the time of "Goldfinger" and I remember hearing a statement by Connery that he was getting sick of playing that part. But I agree. Connery was the ultimate Bond although others like Dalton did a great job too.
