Tejano on hd radio

I was involved in a car accident Thursday afternoon, I’m ok physically thank God.

But the point is my rental car has HD Radio on it, and wanted to listen to TEJANO. I tuned in to KLTN HD2, programming not that great. Sounds excellent though, but KLOL HD 2 has great programming but not that great of a sound. Low quality sounding, the translator of 104.5 and 105.3 have a better equalization on them.

Speaking of translators, I couldn’t find either of those 2 on any HD sub channel.

KLTN HD-2 has been running KXTN out of San Antonio, which is on 1350 AM in that market as well as the HD-2 of its former FM, now KVBH.

I think KLOL HD-2 is still carrying sister KMVK out of DFW.

When I did an HD scan yesterday I found La Caliente 104.5 originating on KBXX HD-2. However the HD-2 was dead air when rechecked a few minutes ago.

K283CH 104.5 is rebroadcasting KBXX Hd2 .
Mind blowing considering is owned by Centro Cristiano De Vida Eterna. All the other Transalators are "rebroadcasting" KJOZ from Conroe DAIJ MEDIA LLC and we all know that's a huge crock of sh*** .

I think KXTN is starting to loose the few Tejano listeners they have to FIERRO HD.

I heard someone call FIERRO HD and said how this is the best Tejano station because the other one “didn’t say names but most likely talking about KXTN “ only mentions San Antonio and never sends shout outs to HOUSTON.

Well recently I have heard a DJ from KTXN saying the following.

Tejano and Proud KXTN 1350 and 107.5 HD 2San Antonio and in Houston KLTN HD 2.

And yesterday he mentioned, keep it lockedin to 1350 and 107.5 HD 2, and 102.9 KLTN HD2 also on tv tune in UNIVISION 45 and here in San Antonio Univision 41 for the latest.

I think KXTN is starting to loose the few Tejano listeners they have to FIERRO HD.

Keep in mind that they could have just ended the Tejano format when they switched the FM. Instead, because the Tejano community tended to protest format changes in the past, it made more PR sense to keep Tejano on the AM (which was dead anyway).
