Former KTAR talker Bruce St James has been tapped to replace Mancow in AMD on Chicago's WLS. St James and Pamela Hughes were sacked earlier this year to make way for Mike Broomhead on 92~Three. For those who don't know, WLS stands for "We Love Superjock".

Actually WLS stands for “World’s Largest Store” as the station was founded by Sears, Roebuck and Co. back in 1924 in Chicago, Illinois. Sadly, Sears is mostly gone from the retail landscape and is a shell of it’s former self.

As far as Bruce St. James is concerned, good for him, but I could not stand the guy or his show on KTAR.
 
Bruce St. James is a refreshingly non angry, much less partisan talent. I hope he can succeed in Chicago.

I used to love the WLS talk line up in the days of Jay Marvin, Catherine Johns and Jake Hartford. But I lost interest when it became a conservative echo chamber. Maybe Bruce can make it a more entertaining station again.

As for Mancow, good riddance.

Not sure if Little Tommy would agree. Uncle Lar sure had some good Animal Stories!

As far as the Nurse and I go, the biggest irritant on his show was Pamela Hughes...who constantly talked about her daughter. Then Bruce would deviate from topic and ramble on about his race car accidents. Broomhead is more focused, but they should give him a better mic than the shrill Radio Shack one he's currently using. Jeez.. sounds like he's on Ancient Modulation again.
