Posts moved from the Alex Trebek obit.

The article also mentioned that they would air repeat episodes for the weeks of Dec. 21st and 28th, and Alex's final week will air beginning Jan. 4th.

I had the thought that Christmas day wouldn't be a good time to air Alex's final episode because of pre-emptions and people's holiday plans. Having it in January is definitely a better move.

It was weird to see Alex doing a Colonial Penn commercial. What were they thinking?

Then I remembered. I taped the movie several months ago and was just getting around to watching it.

I don't know if anyone noticed but in the Thanksgiving message that I saw on You Tube Alex sound weaker. But then I watched today's episode and he sounded better.

Katie Couric to be interim host of Jeopardy according to Sony.
I'm not crazy about her but at least it's only interim.

Meredith Vieira would be good.

Given what happened today, I'm worried about tonight. I have two options if the second station is out of news by 7:30.

I watched Alex's final Jeopardy! episode tonight. The little tribute they did at the end was very good and touched basis on some of Trebek's fun times at the show. I had no idea he dressed up in those costumes periodically - the Statue of Liberty, the Fred Astaire top hat, etc etc.
Boy it's not going to be easy transitioning into a new era of Jeopardy! Art Fleming may have been the original host, but Alex made Jeopardy! into the success it is today.

I'm surprised there wasn't an immediate slew of opinions about Ken Jennings debut.

Guess I'll start:
As predicted, he seemed stiff/wooden in the opening and during the contestant get-to-know. Ken ran the game well, very snappy, but was missing something. Alex had his style of telling the contestants their answer was wrong. "Oooh, sorry", "no, sorry', Ken seemed rushed by just answering with a quick "no". Ken's voice doesn't have the resonance of a good host either. I'm surprised the Producer's didn't pick up on that and have the A1 process his mic a little more aggressively to make him stand out.
As I predicted earlier, I don't think Ken will be the final replacement.
