They preempted that for this?

Do we know if the 8:00 start time includes pregame? The Thanksgiving game was only going to have pregame from 8:00-8:20, but the season's NFL kickoff pregame started at 7:00, and TNF pregame would start at 7:30 when it was on NBC (as it does on every other network).

schedule says 7 CST on the NFL site which means kickoff would be a minute or so after that (like the noon games on Sunday). On Sundays the late singlehader games kickoff say 3:05 (which includes a quick pregame)

The kickoff on Turkey Day was to have been 7:20 (like Sunday night games).

The listings on Zap2It and Xfinity have already updated for the game. No "Football Night In America" or anything else football-related is listed before 8:00. WNBC is pre-empting the 7:00 hour for a charity special that day (along with all the other NYC stations including our My and CW, but not WABC apparently), but WVIT and WCAU (both O&O's) still have All Access listed for 7:30 as usual.

ABC signed off from College Football at 7:00 after some field interviews, but programming did not start until around 7:02-04 depending on the affiliate. WJLA Washington DC cut into Wheel of Fortune right at the end of the contestant interviews, and WABC New York did not cut into Jeopardy! until right before Alex threw to the first commercial.

WPVI ended up moving Jeopardy! to 6.2 Localish and aired news starting at 7:04. Wheel was JIP'd on 6.1 afterwards.

Unique case in Philly on Monday. WPVI is carrying the Eagles MNF game. Since it pre-empts the Disney Holiday Singalong, rather than move it overnight or to the subchannel, WPVI will air it an hour before the rest of the country at 7:00 PM Eastern, bumping Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune to 6.2 Localish.

Did anyone of you guys get switched to Rams-49ers? if so. the Simpsons was JIP.

Houston's Fox O&O had the NO-DEN late game, as there are plenty of transplanted Saints fans in the market. I watched for a little while at the beginning as I was curious what the Broncos would do without any real quarterbacks. When I checked in again near the end of the third quarter, the game had been switched to 49ers-Rams, which turned out to be a much better contest (decided by a FG as time expired.)

Reports now that the Ravens-Steelers game might move to Wednesday night:

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...rs-game-postponed-again-wednesday-source-says

If so, that would pre-empt a bunch of Christmas specials.

Kickoff is reportedly scheduled for 3:40 ET Wednesday afternoon. NBC has the Rockefeller Center tree lightning that night, optionally starting at 7:00 ET/PT (mandatory for the O&O's) and officially starting at 8:00.

Sunday's Washington-Steelers game is moved to Monday 12/7 at 5:00 ET, networks TBA.

Why bother show the tree this year, nobody will be allowed to be there.

TNF on FOX has been replaced with MLS Soccer. Game runs from 8:00-10:30 PM with pregame. WNYW is shortening their 60 minute 10:00 newscast to 35 minutes, but no changes to programming otherwise. The 10:00 airing of Big Bang Theory (which is the pilot episode that day) is shortened to 25 minutes, so it may be JIP'd or presented with shorter breaks.

For some areas Local TV stations might pre-empt the network News for election coverage because they happen to be in a Battleground state for president or they have to report governors and mayoral races on election day too.
Plus 3:30 (AM ** OR ** PM) is an EARLY timeslot for a newscast - PERIOD

Interesting observation: After the Ravens-Steelers game in the Mountain time zone, the NBC Nightly News at 5:30 ran without a single paying customer. All national ad breaks were covered with NBC promos.

Probably no surprise given the small population...

Didn’t get to post yesterday because of the software upgrade. But WCNC preempted Wheel of Fortune for a special 7:30 newscast after “Wednesday Afternoon Football.” But according to the listings on the website Jeopardy aired as scheduled. I’m sure WheelRob will be just thrilled to hear about that. They aired Judge Judy at 3 as scheduled according to the listings and decided not to air a 3pm newscast. Some stations did. The Baltimore and Pittsburgh stations aired pregame shows as you might expect. Some stations actually left talk shows in progress. And one station in the Quad Cities didn’t air the game at all! 😳
The game preempted Days in the western time zones. I know the Salt Lake station aired it at 1:05 am their time.

NBC preempted the tree lighting with 2 hours of zoom performances.
Huh? Did you watch? They had a huge stage out in front of the tree, most of the performances were live, and a lot of the musicians were wearing masks. I think the Dolly was pre-recorded, and a few others were from other locations, but the majority of the show was in front of the tree. I thought it was funny that the statue of Atlas above the rink was wearing a mask.
