Pluto TV, free TV marches on

Props to Pluto TV. Their channels and program selections (some exclusive) continue to expand. I think they are here to stay. Recently they added a Bob Barker Price Is Right channel. Great to see these old shows from the early 80's again, when the showcases were only worth $5.000. I can't understand why Game Show Network or Buzzr haven't tried to get them, or tried hard enough.

I love Pluto, the Roku I purchased 2 years ago is the best investment I’ve made for a long time. There’s so much free television on this device other than my internet bill ($45. a month) I pay for nothing else. I’m able to stream radio as well on this device.

Pluto is the free streaming service of ViacomCBS. I believe that era of TPIR was originally distributed by Viacom, so they likely still have the rights. It's likely that you see a lot of old Viacom shows on Pluto.

There were different rumors over the years that the Bob Barker episodes of TPIR weren't allowed to be seen on GSN or Buzzr by Barker, Fremantle, and/or CBS.

Pluto sucks...same garbage over and over...half the time the EPG is wrong. Some channels down for days, commercials or other break in at odd times of programming..

I believe the Barker rumor is true for the early TPIR episodes where fur coats were given away. After Bob's wife passed, he continued to honor her wishes by not allowing the early episodes to be aired. I don't know if they'll consider airing them after Bob passes, though.
